ITHACA, N.Y. - The Bloomsburg men's tennis team drops tightly contested match to Ithaca 4-3.
The match started with doubles where the team of
Landon Wall (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca High School) and
Alejandro Higuera (Ciudad Obregon, Mexico/Colegio Weston) won the #3 flight 6-1.
Jack Seaborn (Cambridge, England/The Leys School) and
Jaime Soria (Pamplona, Spain/Liceo Monjardin) also got the victory as they took the #2 flight 6-2, securing the team point for the Huskies.
Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/Russian Gymnasium at the State Russian Museum) and
Sergio Dilan (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cedin)Â won the #1 flight in a hard-fought 7-6 victory.
In singles competition,
Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/Russian Gymnasium at the State Russian Museum) took his second victory of the match by winning the #1 flight 6-2, 7-6. Seaborn fought hard in the #3 flight as it went three rounds. Seaborn won the flight 6-3, 3-6, 6-0.Â
The Huskies could not score another point and the did not take the match, Ithaca won 4-3.
The Huskies will travel to Fairmont, W.Va. to face Fairmont State on March 15. Start time is to be determined.Â
