FAIRMONT, W. Va. – The Bloomsburg men's tennis team fall in a pair of closely contested regional contests this weekend. The Huskies fell to West Virginia Wesleyan 4-0 on Saturday before dropping a close 4-0 decision to #13 Fairmont State on Saturday.

West Virginia Wesleyan 4; Bloomsburg 0
Jaime Soria (Pamplona, Spain/Liceo Monjardin) and
Jack Seaborn (Cambridge, England/The Leys School) picked up the lone win for the Huskies in doubles action with a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles. WVW earned a 7-5 win at No. 1 and a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles to pick up the first win of the match.

West Virginia Wesleyan won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5, and 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles to clinch match point before the top three matches could finish. WVW won the first set on all three courts.

Fairmont State won the doubles point with a sweep of the doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.

The singles matches were extremely close, though the Falcons clinched the match at No. 4 singles despite the Huskies leading on two of the three top courts.
Alejandro Higuera (Ciudad Obregon, Mexico/Colegio Weston) won his first set 6-3 at No.2 singles and was leading 2-1 when the match was clinched and
Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/Russian Gymnasium at the State Russian Museum) won 7-5 in his first set, though was down 3-2 in the second at No. 1 singles. Seaborn won his first set 7-6 (7-3) at No. 3 singles and was down just a point, 2-1, in the second set when the match was clinched.

The Huskies return to the court on Monday, March 23 when they host Juniata for a 3:00 p.m. match. The Bloomsburg/West Liberty match originally scheduled for Monday, March 16 was canceled due to rain and cold temperatures.
