BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Huskies split doubleheader with the Shepherd Rams at Jan M. Hutchinson Field.
In game one,
Sarah Yamrick (Fort Myers, Fla./Bishop Verot) struck out five Rams while also recording three hits on four at-bats. She also had two runs and RBIs.
Alizabeth Schuler (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) and
Reagan Wiest (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) both homered and had a total of three RBIs.
In game two,
Taylor Kranzley (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) had three hits, two runs, two RBIs and a home run.
Sydney Thompson (Karthaus, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) also had a home run and recorded one RBI.Â
Game one - Bloomsburg 8, Shepherd 1
The rams stuck first in the match up by homering in the top of the fourth inning. The Huskies fired back in the bottom of the fourth, starting with Yamrick singling to left field. Wiest also singled and advanced Yamrick to second base.
Taylor Welsh (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) then reached on an error by Shepherd's second baseman, which allowed Yamrick to tie the game 1-1.
Schuler stepped to the plate in the bottom of the fifth and, with on swing, gave Bloomsburg the lead as she homered to left center.Â
Bloomsburg was not done scoring as Wiest hit a two-run home run to bolster the lead to 4-1. Welsh, Kranzley and
Jenna Kaufman (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) loaded up the bases for
Gabby Starr (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) who had an RBI single. Wenrich added to the lead as she also hit an RBI single, making it 5-1. Yamrick had the final two scores as she hit a 2-RBI single, bringing Starr and Wenrich home, ending the game 8-1.
Game two - Bloomsburg 5, Shepherd 8
The Huskies started out hot as the duo of Kranzley and Thompson both homered in the bottom of the first. The Rams came back and scored six straight runs in the top of the third.
After the Rams bolstered the lead to 8-2, the Huskies fired back with
Macey Fisher (Dauphin, Pa./Central Dauphin) singling in the infield. She advanced to second after
Jovie Valenzuela (Poconos, Pa./Pleasant Valley) singled to right. Kranzley hit Fisher home on a single to center feld. Schuler made it 8-5 after doubling to right center, bringing in Kranzley and Valenzuela.
The Huskies could not continue their rally and fell in game two 8-5.

The Huskies will face Shippensburg at home in a doubleheader on April 11. Game one will start at 1 p.m.
