BLOOMSBURG, Pa – The Bloomsburg men's tennis team finished the regular season 7-7 and 3-3 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action. The Huskies earned the No. 4 seed for the 2026 PSAC Men's Tennis Tournament and are set to host No. 1 Jefferson in the semifinals on Friday. The semifinal matches are set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
Scouting the Huskies
Bloomsburg enters the PSAC Tournament with a 7-7 overall record and a 3-3 mark in conference play, showing the ability to compete across the lineup with a balanced mix of experienced contributors. The Huskies have posted a 36-42 dual-match singles record, with much of their production coming from the top half of the lineup.
Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/Russian Gymnasium at the State Russian Museum) has been the anchor for Bloomsburg, compiling an 8-4 dual record and earning a win over a nationally ranked opponent.
Jack Seaborn (Cambridge, England/The Leys School) has matched that production with an 8-4 dual record and consistent results in the middle of the lineup, while
Alejandro Higuera (Ciudad Obregon, Mexico/Colegio Weston) has added six dual wins and versatility across multiple positions.
Additional depth comes from
Jaime Soria (Pamplona, Spain/Liceo Monjardin), who has contributed six dual victories, and
Iu Casamitjana (Igualada, Spain/Escola Pia Igualada), who has posted a strong 5-3 overall singles record. The Huskies have shown the ability to generate points throughout the lineup, particularly when controlling matches in the top three flights.
In doubles, Bloomsburg has gone 25-17 in dual matches, with several combinations producing results. The pairing of
Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/Russian Gymnasium at the State Russian Museum) and
Sergio Dilan (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cedin) has led the way with an 8-4 record, while
Jack Seaborn (Cambridge, England/The Leys School) and
Jaime Soria (Pamplona, Spain/Liceo Monjardin) have added a 7-4 mark. The Huskies have also received steady contributions from
Alejandro Higuera (Ciudad Obregon, Mexico/Colegio Weston) and
Landon Wall (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca High School), who have combined for a .500 record in dual play.
Bloomsburg enters the postseason having won three of its final five matches, including key wins over Kutztown and West Chester. The Huskies have shown resilience throughout the spring, with multiple 5-2 and 6-1 victories, and will look to carry that momentum into the PSAC Tournament.
Scouting the Rams
Jefferson enters the PSAC Tournament as one of the hottest teams in the field with a 14-6 overall record and a 6-1 mark in conference play. The Rams have built their success on a deep and balanced singles lineup, compiling a 78-41 dual-match record with strength throughout all six positions.
At the top of the lineup, Jules Thibault has been dominant, posting a 15-4 dual record and carrying an 11-match winning streak into postseason play, including a perfect 5-0 mark in conference matches. Antonio Mateos Melenchon has added another consistent presence with a 14-5 dual record and a six-match winning streak, while Johary Rabetrano (10-8 dual) and Nicholas Trebuchet (10-8 dual) have provided reliability in the middle of the order.
Depth has been a defining factor for the Rams, with multiple players contributing across the lineup, including Quentin Duvinage (9-4 dual) and Matt Cizmarik (7-4 dual), both of whom have winning records and experience in key positions. Overall, Jefferson has demonstrated the ability to control matches in singles, particularly in the top four flights.
In doubles, the Rams have been equally effective, posting a 39-20 dual record. The pairing of Mateos Melenchon and Thibault has been one of the strongest in the conference at 13-2, frequently giving Jefferson an early advantage with the doubles point. Additional depth from the teams of Rabetrano/Trebuchet (9-5) and Slavkovic/Cizmarik (9-5) provides flexibility across all three courts.
Jefferson closes the regular season on a significant run, winning nine of its last 10 matches, including a 6-1 victory over Bloomsburg in the regular-season finale. The Rams also secured conference wins over Kutztown, West Chester, and Edinboro, showing the ability to perform against top PSAC competition heading into the tournament.

THE REST OF THE TOURNAMENT
In the other semifinals match, No. 2 Chestnut Hill takes on No. 4 Edinboro at the Burt Reese Tennis Center. The winner of both semifinals will face off for the 2026 PSAC Men's Tennis Title on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

Chestnut Hill earned the No. 2 seed with a 5-1 record in PSAC play while Edinboro grabbed the No. 3 seed with a 4-2 slate in conference play. Jefferson and Chestnut Hill are new associate members of the PSAC for men's tennis as of the beginning of this season.

REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Huskies enter the weekend ranked #8 in the Atlantic Region in the latest NCAA Regional rankings. Bloomsburg is one of three teams from the PSAC in the latest regional rankings Jefferson ranked No. 2 in the region and Chestnut Hill checking in as the No. 7 team.

The winner of the PSAC Tournament will clinch the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament while several teams from the region look to grab at-large spots. Each regional bracket is comprised of seven teams from the regions.
