BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Reigning national champion Kelly Leszcynski (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) is set to return to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships after another dominant season in the javelin for the Bloomsburg Huskies.

Leszcynski earned a spot in the national championship field for the third time in her career and enters the meet as one of the top returning throwers in Division II after capturing the 2025 NCAA national title in the event.

The NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place May 21-23 at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas. Leszcynski is scheduled to compete in the women's javelin on Saturday, May 23, at 1:30 p.m. ET.

HOW SHE GOT HERE
Leszcynski once again put together one of the top javelin seasons in Division II during the 2026 outdoor campaign. She opened the season with a winning throw of 47.18 meters (154-9) at the Jim Taylor Duals before claiming another victory at the All-American Meet with a mark of 47.61 meters (156-2).

The junior continued her strong spring at the Bison Outdoor Classic, placing third with a throw of 47.87 meters (157-1), before recording a first-place finish at the SU Mid-Week PR Bonanza with a mark of 44.73 meters (146-9).

Competing against a nationally competitive field at the Penn Relays, Leszcynski posted a throw of 45.65 meters (149-9).

She capped the regular season by winning her second consecutive PSAC championship in the javelin with a throw of 47.05 meters (154-4).

HER RESUME
Leszcynski has established herself as one of the most accomplished throwers in program history. As a freshman in 2023, she earned All-America honors after placing fourth at the NCAA Championships with a throw of 47.65 meters (156-4). She was also named the PSAC Women's Track & Field Freshman of the Year that season.

After missing the 2024 season due to injury, Leszcynski returned in 2025 to win the NCAA Division II national championship in the javelin with a school-record throw of 52.07 meters (170-10), becoming the first women's track & field national champion in Bloomsburg history.

Her national-title throw remains the top mark in program history and one of the top performances in Division II over the last several seasons.

THE FIELD
Leszcynski enters the championship meet among the top returning competitors in Division II and is one of 22 athletes selected for the national championship field in the javelin.

The event features several of the top throwers in the country, including returning All-Americans and conference champions from across Division II.
Leszcynski is seeded eighth in the event as one of four juniors in line for All-American status. There are two freshmen and two sophomores in the top eight as well. Keilee Johnson of Missouri Southern holds the top mark in DII this year with a throw of 54.70 meters.
