LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg field hockey team was selected to finish fifth in the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.
The poll was voted on by the league's head coaches, with Kutztown receiving seven first-place votes to earn the top spot. Defending PSAC and NCAA Division II national champion Shippensburg received two first-place votes and was picked second, while West Chester earned the remaining first-place vote and was selected third. East Stroudsburg was fourth, followed by Bloomsburg to round out the top five.
The Huskies enter the 2026 campaign following their fourth consecutive appearance in the PSAC Tournament. Bloomsburg finished the 2025 season 13-5 overall and 5-4 in conference play, finishing sixth in the league standings before falling to eventual national champion Shippensburg in the opening round of the conference tournament.
Head coach Nikki Hartranft returns an experienced group from a team that outscored its opponents 62-17 last season. The Huskies averaged 3.44 goals per game while holding opponents to 0.94 goals per contest. Bloomsburg opened the 2025 season with 10 consecutive victories and finished the year with eight shutouts.
Senior Genna Bush (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) headlines the returning offensive group after leading the Huskies with 16 goals and 34 points in 2025. Bush started all 18 contests and recorded six game-winning goals while putting 41 of her 64 shots on goal.
Bloomsburg also brings back several of its other top offensive contributors. Senior Sophie Lawler (Newport, Pa./Newport) recorded three goals and a team-leading seven assists for 13 points last season, while senior Alyxandra Flick (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) finished with four goals, two assists and three game-winning goals. Sophomore Arianna Deliso (Easton, Pa./Easton) returns after a strong debut season in which she scored six goals and finished tied with Lawler for third on the team with 13 points.
Junior Alli Bucher (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) added four goals during the 2025 campaign, while Lexy Freed (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove), Alexandra Bliss (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area), Kendall Iasiello (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) and Raegan Iasiello (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) provide additional returning experience throughout the lineup. The Huskies also return seniors Jordan Bond (Dallas, Pa./Dallas), Rileigh Lambert (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area) and Georgia Tsioles (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) as part of an experienced upperclassmen group.
The Huskies will look to replace several key pieces from last season, including Kate Ferguson (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township), who finished second on the team with 16 points behind five goals and six assists, and goalkeeper Maura Greek (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley). Greek started nine games in goal and finished the season with a .806 save percentage, 1.47 goals-against average and two shutouts.
Bloomsburg's 2026 roster features eight freshmen, with Emerson Lewis (Cedarville, N.J./Cumberland County Tech), Taylor Fry (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area), Hadley Nicholas (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), Juliana Racobaldo (Mullica Hill, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep), Carly Rice (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East), Laken Dennis (Columbia, Pa./Hempfield), Gracie Bush (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) and Mallory Hughes (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) joining the field players. Freshmen goalkeepers Charlotte Mack (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) and Laurel Unger (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) also join the Huskies as the program adds depth across the field.
Bloomsburg begins the regular season with a two-game trip to New Hampshire. The Huskies open the year against Southern New Hampshire on Friday, Sept. 4, at 4 p.m. before facing Saint Anselm on Sunday, Sept. 6, at noon. The home opener is set for Wednesday, Sept. 9, when Bloomsburg welcomes Adelphi to Steph Pettit Stadium at 4 p.m.
The Huskies play nine non-conference contests before opening PSAC competition on the road against Frostburg State on Saturday, Oct. 3. The conference slate includes home contests against West Chester, IUP, Slippery Rock and preseason favorite Kutztown. Bloomsburg travels to defending national champion Shippensburg on Oct. 10 and East Stroudsburg on Oct. 20.
Bloomsburg closes the regular season against Kutztown at Steph Pettit Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 7. The PSAC Tournament begins Tuesday, Nov. 10, with the semifinals and championship scheduled for Nov. 13 and 15 at the site of the conference's top seed.
