BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/Russian Gymnasium at the State Russian Museum) claimed the Maroon Singles championship, while Jaime Soria (Pamplona, Spain/Liceo Monjardin) and Alex Higuera teamed up to win the Gold Doubles flight and lead the Bloomsburg men's tennis team at the Husky Invitational at the Burt Reese Tennis Center.

The Huskies recorded six top-three finishes across singles and doubles competition against players from Daemen, Edinboro, Franklin & Marshall and Saint Francis.

Dementev powered through the Maroon Singles bracket without dropping a set. He opened the tournament with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Franklin & Marshall's Daniil Lunev before defeating Kevin Suresh of Saint Francis, 6-2, 6-3, in the semifinals. Dementev completed his championship run with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Franklin & Marshall's Marco Romano.

Soria and Higuera combined for Bloomsburg's second flight title in the Gold Doubles draw. After receiving an opening-round bye, the Huskies advanced to the championship match with a 6-2 semifinal victory over Franklin & Marshall's Stas Kunash and Theo Oeltermann. Soria and Higuera secured the title by defeating Edinboro's Arsen Tabaldyev and Philip Paulus, 6-4.

Jack Seaborn (Cambridge, England/The Leys School) added a runner-up finish in the Gold Singles flight. Seaborn defeated Daemen's Lucas Garcia, 6-4, 6-2, in his opening match before outlasting Noah Potts of Saint Francis, 6-3, 4-6, 10-6, in the semifinals. Tabaldyev edged Seaborn, 7-5, 6-3, in the championship match.

Yannick Gyomlay (Wettingen, Switzerland/Kantonsschule Baden) also advanced to a singles final, placing second in the Silver flight. Gyomlay opened with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Daemen's Lasse Mergens and followed with a 6-3, 7-6 semifinal win against Edinboro's Gerardo Guzman. Paulus topped Gyomlay in the championship round.

Nicolas Mustea (Bonn, Germany/Friedrich-Ebert Gymnasium Bonn) earned third place in the White Singles flight. Mustea blanked Daemen's Vondin Henderson, 6-0, 6-0, before falling to eventual champion Tucker Chesman of Franklin & Marshall in the semifinals. The Huskies' Mustea responded with a 5-3, 1-4, 10-6 victory over Saint Francis' Luke Mitchell in the third-place match.

Dementev and Seaborn completed Bloomsburg's list of top-three performers with a third-place finish in the Maroon Doubles flight. The duo rebounded from a semifinal setback to defeat Franklin & Marshall's Romano and James Pamwell, 6-3, in the third-place contest.

Higuera reached the semifinals of the Maroon Singles draw after battling past Franklin & Marshall's Sam Donnelly, 6-3, 2-6, 10-7, in the opening round. Soria also earned an opening-round singles victory, surviving Pamwell, 7-5, 2-6, 12-10, in the Gold flight.

Fran Hernandez (Malloraca, Spain/La Salle Palma) rounded out Bloomsburg's singles competitors with a consolation victory in the Red flight.
