THE GAME
Bloomsburg returns to the road Saturday for a PSAC crossover matchup against Gannon at McConnell Family Stadium in Erie. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.

The Huskies enter the contest at 1-1 after a 9-6 loss to Edinboro, while Gannon is 0-2 following a 45-28 setback at Shepherd. Saturday marks Gannon's home opener and Senior Day.

The matchup features contrasting strengths. Bloomsburg has allowed 11 points and 220 yards per game through two contests, while Gannon has relied on an explosive passing attack and return game to average 24 points per contest.

THE SERIES
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against Gannon, 5-2, and has won the past two meetings. The Huskies are 3-1 at home and 2-1 in Erie.

The teams last met Sept. 18, 2021, when Bloomsburg earned a 31-27 victory at Danny Hale Field at Redman Stadium. The Huskies also won 27-10 in 2017. Gannon's most recent victory in the series was a 30-27 overtime decision in Erie in 2016.

The programs first met Nov. 8, 2008, with Bloomsburg earning a 38-10 road victory — the Huskies' largest margin of victory in the series.

SCOUTING GANNON
Gannon enters its home opener at 0-2 after losses to Davenport and Shepherd. The Golden Knights fell 32-20 at Davenport before dropping a 45-28 PSAC crossover contest at Shepherd.

Gannon scored twice in the opening eight minutes against Shepherd and held leads of 7-0 and 14-7. The Golden Knights later pulled within 31-28 when Keoke Toomer returned a fumble a school-record 100 yards for a touchdown, but Shepherd answered with the final 14 points.

Quarterback Ty Hurst has completed 29 of 45 passes for 418 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Donell Mason has emerged as Gannon's primary big-play threat with 11 receptions for 221 yards and three touchdowns. Mason caught three passes for 94 yards and two scores at Shepherd, including a 75-yard touchdown.

NaSean Hill leads the ground game with 39 yards and a touchdown, while Hurst has rushed for 32 yards and a score. Gannon is averaging 263.5 yards per game, including 209 through the air, but has been limited to 54.5 rushing yards per contest.

Kadeem McKnight leads the defense with 18 tackles, followed by Toomer with 16. Jeremiah Lovely and RJ Roberts have 11 stops apiece. Toomer has added 1.5 tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and the 100-yard return.

The Golden Knights have allowed 541.5 yards and 38.5 points per game. Opponents are averaging 287.5 rushing yards and 254 passing yards while converting 50% of their third-down opportunities.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Bloomsburg enters Saturday at 1-1 after opening the season with a 35-13 victory at Fairmont State and falling 9-6 to Edinboro. The Huskies have allowed only 22 points and two touchdowns through their first two games.

Bloomsburg is surrendering 220 yards per game, including 90.5 rushing yards and 129.5 passing yards. The Huskies have recorded 14 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. Opponents have converted only 9 of 28 third downs.

Declan Clancy (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) leads the offense with 215 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 35 carries. Clancy is averaging 6.1 yards per attempt and 107.5 yards per game. Cowan Ruhland (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) has rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown while completing 11 of 23 passes for 102 yards.

Justin Wolfe (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area) leads the receiving corps with six catches for 129 yards and a touchdown. Eli Zimmerman (Schnecksville, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) has provided a spark in the return game, averaging 18 yards per punt return and 27.3 yards per kickoff return.

Garrett Garcia (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) leads the defense with 17 tackles, while Nahzier Booker (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) has 16 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. Brady Thompson (Green Lane, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) has recorded 15 tackles, Dylan Clair (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College HS) has 14 and Tyler Frey (York, Pa./Central York) has 13.

BLOOMSBURG IN THE NCAA RANKINGS
Bloomsburg's defense has established itself among the early statistical leaders in Division II. The Huskies have allowed 11 points, 220 total yards and 90.5 rushing yards per game while holding opposing quarterbacks without a touchdown pass.

Bloomsburg has recorded seven sacks and 14 tackles for loss through two contests. The Huskies are allowing 3.6 yards per play and have held opponents to a 32.1% conversion rate on third down.

Nahzier Booker (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) has 3.5 sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss through two games. Declan Clancy (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) is averaging 107.5 rushing yards per game, while Eli Zimmerman (Schnecksville, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) is averaging 18 yards per punt return.

The Huskies have also excelled in the red zone, scoring on all three of their trips while holding opponents to three scores in four opportunities. Bloomsburg's defense has surrendered only one touchdown in four opponent red-zone possessions.

GANNON IN THE NCAA RANKINGS
Gannon's passing and return games have supplied the Golden Knights' biggest plays through two games. Ty Hurst is averaging 209 passing yards per contest with four touchdown passes, while Donell Mason is averaging 110.5 receiving yards and has scored three touchdowns.

Mason is averaging 20.1 yards per reception and has produced catches of 54 and 75 yards. Jaylen Nelson is averaging 34.4 yards on five kickoff returns, highlighted by a 76-yard return at Shepherd.

Gannon has struggled to contain opposing offenses, allowing 541.5 total yards and 38.5 points per game. The Golden Knights have surrendered 287.5 rushing yards per contest and have allowed opponents to convert 11 of 22 third downs.

I'M HONORED
Following a dominant performance in Bloomsburg's 35-13 season-opening victory at Fairmont State, Nahzier Booker (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) was named the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Booker recorded a career-high 3.5 tackles for loss and matched his career best with 2.5 sacks while sharing the team lead with eight tackles. He helped the Huskies limit Fairmont State to 175 total yards, 63 rushing yards and 11 first downs. Bloomsburg finished the game with six sacks, 11 tackles for loss and three takeaways.

Booker followed that performance with eight tackles, seven solo stops, a nine-yard sack, two quarterback hurries and a pass breakup against Edinboro.

LAST TIME OUT: EDINBORO 9, BLOOMSBURG 6
Bloomsburg delivered another strong defensive performance in its home opener, holding Edinboro to 265 yards and without a point in the second half before falling 9-6.

The Huskies turned Edinboro away on its opening possession when Booker recorded a nine-yard sack in the red zone before the Fighting Scots missed a 33-yard field goal. Edinboro broke the scoreless tie on Jerry Dinkins' 28-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter.

Peter Kashynski (Falls Church, Va./Justice) put Bloomsburg on the board with a 20-yard field goal with 28 seconds left in the half, but Edinboro answered with a 33-yard field goal as time expired to take a 9-3 lead.

Bloomsburg opened the second half with an 11-play, 67-yard drive. Clancy extended the possession with a 32-yard run on third-and-12 before Kashynski converted a career-long 41-yard field goal.

The defense kept the Huskies within three points for the remainder of the game. Ian Donohue (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain) and Dom Fetterolf (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) combined for a third-down stop before an incomplete pass ended an Edinboro drive at the Bloomsburg 30.

Dylan Clair (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College HS) forced and recovered a fumble at the Edinboro 46 with 1:08 remaining, giving the Huskies one final possession. Bloomsburg could not convert the opportunity and turned the ball over on downs with 23 seconds left.

Garrett Garcia (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) led the Huskies with 11 tackles. Brady Thompson (Green Lane, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) finished with nine, while Booker and Clair recorded eight apiece. Clancy paced the offense with 80 yards on 15 carries.

LAST TIME VS. GANNON: BLOOMSBURG 31, GANNON 27
Bloomsburg rallied for a 31-27 victory over Gannon on Sept. 18, 2021, at Danny Hale Field at Redman Stadium.

The Huskies trailed 27-24 late in the fourth quarter before completing the comeback. Bloomsburg scored 14 points in the final period to earn its second consecutive victory in the series.

Saturday will mark Bloomsburg's first trip to Gannon since Sept. 17, 2016. The Huskies are 2-1 in three previous games at McConnell Family Stadium, including victories in 2008 and 2013.

DEFENSIVE STANDARD
Bloomsburg has surrendered only 22 points and two touchdowns through two games. The Huskies held Fairmont State to 175 yards before limiting Edinboro to 265, giving the defense an average of 220 yards allowed per contest.

Opponents have rushed for only 181 yards on 70 carries, an average of 2.6 yards per attempt. Bloomsburg has also kept both opposing passing attacks out of the end zone, allowing 28 completions for 259 yards with two interceptions.

The Huskies have produced seven sacks, 14 tackles for loss, four takeaways, seven quarterback hurries and 10 pass breakups.

DOMINATING THE TRENCHES
Bloomsburg's strength at the line of scrimmage has continued to grow over the past three seasons. In 2024, the Huskies rushed for 1,313 yards and 15 touchdowns while allowing 17 sacks. Those numbers improved in 2025, when the offensive line helped Bloomsburg produce 1,663 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns while surrendering only 10 sacks.

Through two games in 2026, Dimitri Chacon (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt), Jake Bobbin (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain), Jake Simoson (Harveys Lake, Pa./Lake Lehman), Colin Higgins (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) and Justin Bateman (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) have helped the Huskies average 158.5 rushing yards per game. Will McPeek (Roxbury, N.J./Roxbury), Ryan Grimshaw (Delran, N.J./Delran), Joshua Nittinger and Travis Griffith (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) have also contributed up front, while tight ends Lucas Shultz (Dallas. Pa./Dallas) and Archie Stephens (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) have aided the blocking effort.

The line paved the way for 219 rushing yards and four touchdowns at Fairmont State before helping Clancy average 5.3 yards per carry against Edinboro. Bloomsburg has not allowed a sack in 30 passing attempts this season.

CLANCY SETS THE PACE
Clancy has surpassed 80 rushing yards in both games and leads Bloomsburg with 215 yards on 35 carries. He is averaging 6.1 yards per attempt and 107.5 yards per game.

After rushing for a career-high 135 yards and two touchdowns at Fairmont State, Clancy added 80 yards on 15 attempts against Edinboro. His 32-yard run from the Bloomsburg 7 converted a third-and-12 and sparked the Huskies' longest scoring drive of the game.

PRESSURE OFF THE EDGE
Booker has produced 3.5 sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss through two games. He recorded 2.5 sacks in the opener before adding a nine-yard sack, two quarterback hurries and a pass breakup against Edinboro.

Ian Donohue (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain) has added 2.5 sacks, three tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. The pair has combined for six of Bloomsburg's seven sacks.

Their pressure has helped the Huskies limit opposing quarterbacks to a 52.8% completion rate with no touchdown passes and two interceptions.

GARCIA LEADS THE MIDDLE
Garrett Garcia (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) recorded a team-high 11 tackles against Edinboro, establishing a career high. Garcia has 17 tackles through two games after opening the season with six stops at Fairmont State.

The linebacker is part of a veteran middle level that also includes Brady Thompson (Green Lane, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) and Tyler Frey (York, Pa./Central York). Thompson has 15 tackles and a quarterback hurry, while Frey has collected 13 stops and a tackle for loss.

CLAIR CREATES ANOTHER TURNOVER
Dylan Clair (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College HS) gave Bloomsburg one final opportunity against Edinboro when he forced and recovered a fumble with 1:08 remaining. Clair punched the ball away from Antwan Ceasar and recovered it at the Edinboro 46.

The takeaway was Clair's second of the season after he intercepted a pass at Fairmont State. He has recorded 14 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery through two games.

KASHYNSKI CONNECTS
Peter Kashynski (Falls Church, Va./Justice) accounted for all six Bloomsburg points against Edinboro, converting field goals from 20 and 41 yards. The 41-yard kick established a career long.

Kashynski is 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts and 5-for-5 on extra points this season. He leads the Huskies with 11 points.

FIELD POSITION WEAPON
Zimmerman has recorded 217 combined return yards through two games. He has returned six punts for 108 yards, averaging 18 yards per attempt, and four kickoffs for 109 yards.

Zimmerman followed his 140-yard all-purpose performance at Fairmont State with 79 return yards against Edinboro, including 39 yards on two punt returns.

TAKE IT AWAY
Bloomsburg has forced four turnovers through two games. Cole Turner (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) and Clair intercepted passes at Fairmont State, while Fetterolf recovered Donohue's forced fumble.

Clair added a forced fumble and recovery against Edinboro. The Huskies enter Saturday with a plus-two turnover margin and have not thrown an interception in 30 pass attempts.

CLEAN POCKET
Bloomsburg's offensive line has not allowed a sack through the first two games. Zayd Etheridge (Bridgeport, Pa./Upper Merion) and Ruhland have combined to complete 15 of 30 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown without an interception.

The Huskies surrendered only 10 sacks throughout the 2025 season after allowing 17 in 2024.

RED-ZONE RESOLVE
Bloomsburg has scored on all three of its red-zone possessions, producing two touchdowns and a field goal. The Huskies converted both trips at Fairmont State into touchdowns before Kashynski kicked a 20-yard field goal against Edinboro.

Defensively, Bloomsburg has allowed opponents to score on three of four red-zone trips, but only one resulted in a touchdown. The Huskies forced an incomplete pass on fourth down to end an Edinboro scoring threat in the third quarter.

KEY MATCHUPS
BLOOMSBURG'S DEFENSE VS. GANNON'S BIG-PLAY PASSING GAME: Bloomsburg has not allowed a touchdown pass this season and is surrendering only 129.5 passing yards per game. Gannon counters with Hurst and Mason, who have connected for three touchdowns while Mason averages 20.1 yards per catch.

CLANCY AND THE OFFENSIVE LINE VS. GANNON'S RUN DEFENSE: Clancy is averaging 107.5 yards per game and 6.1 yards per carry. Gannon has allowed 575 rushing yards through two games, including 420 yards at Davenport.

FIELD POSITION AND RETURNS: Zimmerman has given Bloomsburg consistent field-position advantages with 217 return yards. Gannon has generated explosive plays of its own, including Nelson's 76-yard kickoff return and Toomer's 100-yard fumble return at Shepherd.

THIRD-DOWN EXECUTION: Bloomsburg's defense has held opponents to 32.1% on third down, while Gannon's offense has converted 6 of 20 attempts. Sustaining drives will be important for two offenses looking to complement their playmaking defenses and special teams units.

OFFENSIVE NOTES
Bloomsburg is averaging 249.5 yards and 20.5 points per game. The Huskies have produced 317 rushing yards and 182 passing yards while scoring five touchdowns.

Clancy leads the ground game with 215 yards and two scores. Wolfe has six receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown, while Xavier Diaz (Mount Carmel, Pa./Mount Carmel) and Alex Achenbach (Tower City, Pa./Williams Valley) have contributed to a receiving group that has not committed a turnover.

The Huskies have scored on all three red-zone possessions and have not allowed a sack. Bloomsburg has controlled the football for an average of 30:40 per contest.

DEFENSIVE NOTES
Bloomsburg is allowing 220 yards and 11 points per game. Opponents have averaged 90.5 rushing yards, 129.5 passing yards and 3.6 yards per play.

The Huskies have registered 14 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries, 10 pass breakups and seven quarterback hurries. Opponents have scored only one touchdown in four trips inside the Bloomsburg red zone.

Garcia leads the team with 17 tackles. Booker follows with 16, Thompson has 15 and Clair has 14.

SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES
Zimmerman is averaging 18 yards on six punt returns and 27.3 yards on four kickoff returns. His 217 combined return yards lead the Huskies.

Kashynski is 2-for-3 on field goals and perfect on five extra-point attempts. He converted a career-long 41-yard field goal against Edinboro.

Danen Lorusso (Moorestown, N.J./Roman Catholic) has handled Bloomsburg's punting duties, while Reagan Decker (Shohola, Pa./Delaware Valley) has averaged 64.9 yards on nine kickoffs.

ROAD TEST
Saturday marks Bloomsburg's second road game of the season. The Huskies opened the year with a 35-13 victory at Fairmont State and are making their first trip to Erie since 2016.

Following the Gannon contest, Bloomsburg returns to Danny Hale Field at Redman Stadium to open PSAC East play against Shippensburg on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m. The game will serve as the Tyler Horst Nutritional Center Celebration Game.

HOME SCHEDULE AND SPECIAL EVENTS

The Huskies host East Stroudsburg on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. for the Husky Legacy Club event and annual Think Pink game. Bloomsburg welcomes Millersville for Homecoming and Family & Supporters Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. The contest will also serve as the annual Hall of Fame Game, with the 2026 inductees recognized at halftime.

The Huskies close their home schedule against West Chester on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m. for Senior Day and Military Appreciation Day.

HUDDLE WITH THE HUSKIES
For the third consecutive year, Huddle with the Huskies is being held at the West End Ale Haus on Main Street in Bloomsburg.

The remaining event is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 22. The program will serve as a midseason review and preview Bloomsburg's Homecoming and Hall of Fame matchup against Millersville on Oct. 24.

The event is open to the public. Appetizers will be available while supplies last beginning at 6 p.m., with a short program to follow. Head coach Frank Sheptock will discuss the season, preview upcoming games and introduce members of the coaching staff and team.

44TH ANNUAL HALL OF FAME CELEBRATION
The 2026 Bloomsburg Athletics Hall of Fame Class includes Shanna Fritz (field hockey), Denise Henderson (softball), Tom McGuire (sports information), Eric Miller (football), Steph Pettit (football), Kelly Reimert (swimming) and Brad Rozanski (wrestling).

The induction brunch and ceremony will take place Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Kehr Union Ballroom as part of Homecoming and Family & Supporters Weekend. Doors open at noon for a cocktail hour, lunch service begins at 12:45 p.m. and the induction ceremony follows at 1:30 p.m. The seven-member class will increase the number of individuals enshrined in the Bloomsburg Athletics Hall of Fame to 225.
