THE GAME
Bloomsburg returns to Danny Hale Field at Redman Stadium on Saturday to open PSAC East play against Shippensburg. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Huskies enter the divisional opener at 2-1 following a 33-27 overtime victory at Gannon. Shippensburg is 1-2 after a 28-26 loss to IUP. The Raiders opened the season with a 24-16 loss to Lock Haven before earning a 24-14 road victory against West Virginia Wesleyan.

Saturday's matchup pairs the PSAC's top scoring defense against one of the conference's most productive passing attacks. Bloomsburg leads the conference in scoring defense at 16.3 points per game and total defense at 243.3 yards per contest. HONORING A LEGACY - TYLER HORST NUTRITIONAL CENTER
Saturday's game serves as the honoring of the Tyler Horst Nutritional Center and the Tyler J. Horst Memorial Foundation. 

The Tyler Horst Nutritional Center was established in the fall 2022 in memory of Tyler Horst to serve all of the Bloomsburg student-athletes.

Named for Tyler Horst, the Nutritional Center will provide healthy food and beverage snack options for all Husky student-athletes to help them perform at the highest level.
 
Tyler excelled on the field and in the classroom and aspired to serve his country as a Navy SEAL. He passed away unexpectedly in 2021. Even though Tyler was only 22 years old, he impacted the lives of everyone around him.
 
His legacy of caring and compassion continues today with the creation of the Tyler Horst Nutritional Center. Located in Nelson Field House, the center will be available to all Husky student-athletes and provide nutritional snacks and beverages for pre and post-practice activities.

THE SERIES
Shippensburg leads the all-time series, 51-39. Bloomsburg is 26-19 against the Raiders at home and 13-32 on the road.

Shippensburg won last season's meeting, 10-7, at Seth Grove Stadium. Bloomsburg earned a 20-10 victory in the most recent matchup at Danny Hale Field at Redman Stadium in 2024.

The programs first met Oct. 6, 1917, when Bloomsburg earned a 23-0 victory. The Huskies and Raiders have split their past four meetings, with Bloomsburg winning in 2018 and 2024 and Shippensburg taking the 2023 and 2025 matchups.

SCOUTING SHIPPENSBURG
Shippensburg enters its PSAC East opener at 1-2 following a narrow 28-26 loss to IUP. The Raiders have scored and allowed 66 points through three games, averaging 22 points per contest.

The Raiders are averaging 371.7 yards per game, including 237.7 through the air and 134 on the ground. Shippensburg has controlled the ball for a PSAC-best 34:01 per game while producing 56 first downs.

Quarterback Roman Jensen has completed 60 of 97 passes for 703 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He is averaging 234.3 passing yards per game and has added 60 yards on the ground.

Chris Adegunle leads the PSAC with 334 receiving yards and 111.3 yards per game. He has caught a team-high 20 passes and is averaging 16.7 yards per reception. Derek Guzman has nine receptions for 165 yards, including a 74-yard catch, while Ethan Carlos has eight catches for 58 yards and a touchdown.

Andre Weidman leads the rushing attack with 185 yards and three touchdowns on 40 carries. BJ Jones has added 100 yards and a touchdown on 24 attempts.

Defensively, Shippensburg is allowing 273 yards and 22 points per game. The Raiders have held opponents to 148 passing yards per contest and a 41.9% completion rate while recording seven sacks, 18 tackles for loss, three interceptions and four fumble recoveries.

Alex Sauve leads the defense with 31 tackles, six tackles for loss, a sack, three quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Nate Myers has recorded 26 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, four pass breakups and an interception. Kaden Shope has intercepted two passes, while Javani Mosley leads the PSAC with six pass breakups.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Bloomsburg enters PSAC East play at 2-1 after road victories against Fairmont State and Gannon. The Huskies are averaging 24.7 points and 299 yards per game while allowing 16.3 points and 243.3 yards per contest.

Bloomsburg leads the PSAC in scoring defense, total defense, sacks and turnover margin. The Huskies are also tied for the conference lead with seven takeaways and rank second in red-zone defense.
Declan Clancy (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) leads the offense with 307 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 54 carries. He is averaging 5.7 yards per attempt and 102.3 yards per game.

Zayd Etheridge (Bridgeport, Pa./Upper Merion) has completed 24 of 41 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Justin Wolfe (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area) leads the receiving corps with 10 catches for 197 yards and two scores, while Alex Achenbach (Tower City, Pa./Williams Valley) has a team-high 13 receptions for 100 yards.

Eli Zimmerman (Schnecksville, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) leads Bloomsburg with 369 all-purpose yards. He has rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown, returned six punts for 108 yards and added 180 yards on eight kickoff returns.

Nahzier Booker (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) and Garrett Garcia (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) share the defensive lead with 24 tackles. Booker has recorded 5.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks, while Garcia has added a tackle for loss and an interception. Brady Thompson (Green Lane, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) has 22 tackles, and Dylan Clair (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College HS) has 20 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

BLOOMSBURG IN THE NCAA RANKINGS
Bloomsburg ranks seventh in NCAA Division II in total defense at 243.3 yards per game, eighth in turnover margin at plus-1.67 per contest and 10th in rushing defense at 77 yards per game.

The Huskies are also 10th nationally with 3.33 sacks per game, 20th in scoring defense at 16.3 points per contest and 17th in red-zone defense at 62.5%. Bloomsburg is tied for first nationally with a perfect red-zone offense, scoring on all nine opportunities.

Bloomsburg ranks fourth nationally in sacks allowed after surrendering one through 67 pass attempts. The Huskies are tied for 11th in turnovers lost with two and rank 23rd with seven turnovers gained.

Zimmerman ranks fifth nationally and first in the PSAC with an average of 18 yards per punt return. His 288 combined kick-return yards rank ninth nationally and second in the conference.

Booker ranks sixth nationally and leads the PSAC with 1.17 sacks per game. He ranks eighth nationally and second in the conference with 1.83 tackles for loss per contest.

Clancy ranks 20th nationally and third in the PSAC with 102.3 rushing yards per game. His 307 rushing yards rank 37th nationally and third in the conference.

SHIPPENSBURG IN THE NCAA RANKINGS
Shippensburg leads the PSAC with an average time of possession of 34:01. The Raiders rank third in the conference in passing offense at 237.7 yards per game, fifth in total offense at 371.7 yards per contest and fifth in total defense at 273 yards per game.

Shippensburg has limited opponents to a 41.9% completion rate and 148 passing yards per game. The Raiders have recorded seven sacks, 18 tackles for loss, three interceptions and a PSAC-best four fumble recoveries.

Adegunle leads the conference with 334 receiving yards and 111.3 receiving yards per game. Sauve leads the PSAC with two tackles for loss per game, while Mosley leads the conference with two passes defended per contest.

I'M HONORED
Following a dominant performance in Bloomsburg's 35-13 season-opening victory at Fairmont State, Booker was named the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Booker recorded a career-high 3.5 tackles for loss and matched his career best with 2.5 sacks while sharing the team lead with eight tackles. He helped the Huskies limit Fairmont State to 175 total yards, 63 rushing yards and 11 first downs.

Booker has followed that performance with 16 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, two quarterback hurries and a pass breakup over the past two games. He leads the PSAC with 3.5 sacks and shares the Bloomsburg lead with 24 tackles.

LAST TIME OUT: BLOOMSBURG 33, GANNON 27 (OT)
Bloomsburg overcame a pair of double-digit deficits before Clancy's 3-yard touchdown run in overtime lifted the Huskies to a 33-27 victory at Gannon.

Gannon took a 20-10 lead with 3:32 remaining in the first half, but Bloomsburg responded with 10 points over the final 2:58. Zimmerman capped an 11-play, 74-yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown run before Garcia intercepted Ty Hurst at the Gannon 14. Peter Kashynski's (Falls Church, Va./Justice) 31-yard field goal tied the game at 20 with 34 seconds remaining in the half.

Idriz Ahmetovic (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford) intercepted Hurst on Gannon's opening possession of the third quarter. Etheridge converted the takeaway into points with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Wolfe, giving Bloomsburg a 27-20 lead.

Gannon tied the game early in the fourth quarter, but the Huskies' defense delivered a critical stop late in regulation. Cole Turner (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) sacked Hurst for a 9-yard loss before Garcia stopped Nasean Hill on fourth down at the Bloomsburg 30.

Bloomsburg's defense opened overtime by forcing Gannon to lose nine yards on four plays. The Huskies then handed the ball to Clancy on five consecutive plays, and the running back powered into the end zone from 3 yards out for the game-winning score.

Bloomsburg finished with season highs of 398 yards, 24 first downs and 240 passing yards. The Huskies converted 11 of 18 third downs, scored on all six red-zone possessions and controlled the ball for 31:59.

LAST TIME VS. SHIPPENSBURG: SHIPPENSBURG 10, BLOOMSBURG 7
Bloomsburg and Shippensburg combined for 478 yards as the Raiders earned a 10-7 victory at Seth Grove Stadium on Sept. 27, 2025.

The Huskies took a 7-0 lead on KJ Riley's 7-yard touchdown pass to Jerry Griffen-Batchler (Norristown, Pa./Germantown Academy) with 10:46 remaining in the second quarter. Shippensburg answered with a 39-yard field goal and trailed 7-3 at halftime.

The Raiders recovered an onside kick to open the second half and converted the extra possession into the game-winning touchdown. Riley Gunnels connected with Jaevon Parker for a 16-yard score to give Shippensburg a 10-7 lead.

Garcia led Bloomsburg with 12 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. Booker and Thompson each added nine tackles and a sack as the Huskies limited Shippensburg to 239 yards.

DEFENSIVE STANDARD
Bloomsburg leads the PSAC in scoring defense at 16.3 points per game and total defense at 243.3 yards per contest.

Opponents have rushed for only 231 yards on 100 carries, an average of 77 yards per game and 2.3 yards per attempt. The Huskies rank 10th nationally in rushing defense.

Bloomsburg has produced 20 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, four interceptions, three fumble recoveries, eight pass breakups and four quarterback hurries.

The Huskies held Gannon to 50 rushing yards on 30 attempts. In overtime, Bloomsburg forced the Golden Knights to lose nine yards on four plays before the offense produced the game-winning touchdown.

DOMINATING THE TRENCHES
Bloomsburg's strength at the line of scrimmage has continued to grow over the past three seasons. In 2024, the Huskies rushed for 1,313 yards and 15 touchdowns while allowing 17 sacks. Those numbers improved in 2025, when the offensive line helped Bloomsburg produce 1,663 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns while surrendering only 10 sacks.

Through three games in 2026, Bloomsburg is averaging 158.3 rushing yards per game while holding opponents to 77 yards per contest.

Dimitri Chacon (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt), Ross Bobbin (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain), Jake Bobbin (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain), Jake Simoson (Harveys Lake, Pa./Lake Lehman), Colin Higgins (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) and Justin Bateman (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) have contributed along the offensive line. Will McPeek (Roxbury, N.J./Roxbury), Ryan Grimshaw (Delran, N.J./Delran), Dylan Kraiza (Ardmore, Pa./Malvern Prep), Liam Soto (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), Joshua Nittinger and Travis Griffith (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) have also seen action, while tight ends Lucas Shultz (Dallas. Pa./Dallas) and Archie Stephens (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) have aided the blocking effort.

The Huskies have rushed for 475 yards and seven touchdowns while surrendering only one sack in 67 pass attempts. Bloomsburg ranks fourth nationally and shares the PSAC lead in sacks allowed.

CLANCY SETS THE PACE
Clancy has rushed for at least 80 yards in all three games and leads Bloomsburg with 307 yards and three touchdowns on 54 carries. He is averaging 5.7 yards per attempt and 102.3 yards per game.

After rushing for a career-high 135 yards and two touchdowns at Fairmont State, Clancy added 80 yards against Edinboro and 92 yards at Gannon.

Clancy carried five consecutive times on Bloomsburg's overtime possession at Gannon, accounting for all 25 yards before scoring the game-winning touchdown from 3 yards out.

PRESSURE OFF THE EDGE
Booker has produced 3.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss through three games. He leads the PSAC in sacks per game and ranks second in the conference in tackles for loss.

Donohue has added 2.5 sacks, three tackles for loss, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. Booker and Donohue have combined for six of Bloomsburg's 10 sacks.

The pressure generated by Bloomsburg's front has helped the defense hold opponents to 4.1 yards per play and 243.3 yards per game.

GARCIA LEADS THE MIDDLE
Garcia shares the team lead with 24 tackles through three games. He has added a tackle for loss and an interception.

Garcia recorded seven tackles and intercepted Hurst late in the second quarter at Gannon. The takeaway set up Kashynski's game-tying field goal. Garcia later stopped Hill for no gain on fourth-and-2 at the Bloomsburg 30 with 4:02 remaining in regulation.

The linebacker is part of a veteran middle level that also includes Thompson and Tyler Frey (York, Pa./Central York). Thompson has recorded 22 tackles and a quarterback hurry, while Frey has 13 stops and a half-tackle for loss.

CLAIR CREATES TURNOVERS
Clair has recorded 20 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery through three games.

He intercepted a pass at Fairmont State before forcing and recovering a fumble against Edinboro. Clair's takeaway against the Fighting Scots gave Bloomsburg possession near midfield with 1:08 remaining.

Clair ranks among four Huskies with an interception and three with a fumble recovery this season.

ETHERIDGE COMMANDS THE COMEBACK
Etheridge established season highs with 20 completions, 36 attempts and 240 passing yards at Gannon. He threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Wolfe and scored on a 1-yard run.

Etheridge directed four consecutive scoring possessions during the second and third quarters as Bloomsburg erased a 20-10 deficit and took a 27-20 lead.
Through two starts, Etheridge has completed 24 of 41 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. He has also rushed for two scores.

ACHENBACH MOVES THE CHAINS
Achenbach recorded a game-high eight receptions for 79 yards at Gannon. Six of his catches produced first downs, including receptions of 14 and 17 yards during Bloomsburg's 18-play touchdown drive in the second quarter.

Achenbach leads the Huskies with 13 receptions and has totaled 100 receiving yards through three games.

WOLFE'S BIG-PLAY START
Wolfe leads Bloomsburg with 197 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 10 receptions. He is averaging 19.7 yards per catch.

Wolfe caught four passes for 68 yards at Gannon. His 16-yard touchdown reception from Etheridge gave Bloomsburg a 27-20 lead in the third quarter. He also produced catches of 30 and 17 yards.

KASHYNSKI CONNECTS
Kashynski converted field goals from 30 and 31 yards at Gannon and made all three extra-point attempts. His 31-yard field goal tied the game at 20 late in the first half.

Kashynski is 4-for-6 on field-goal attempts and 8-for-8 on extra points. He leads Bloomsburg with 20 points and has converted field goals from 20, 30, 31 and 41 yards.

FIELD POSITION WEAPON
Zimmerman has recorded 288 combined return yards through three games. He has returned six punts for 108 yards, averaging 18 yards per attempt, and eight kickoffs for 180 yards.

Zimmerman produced a team-high 147 all-purpose yards at Gannon. He rushed for a career-high 76 yards and his first touchdown of the season while adding 71 yards on four kickoff returns.

Zimmerman leads Bloomsburg with 369 all-purpose yards, averaging 123 per game.

TAKE IT AWAY
Bloomsburg has forced seven turnovers through three games. Turner, Clair, Garcia and Ahmetovic have intercepted passes, while Fetterolf, Clair and Donohue have recovered fumbles.

The Huskies forced three turnovers and scored 10 points off takeaways at Gannon. Garcia's interception set up a field goal, while Ahmetovic's interception led to Wolfe's touchdown reception.

Bloomsburg enters Saturday ranked eighth nationally and first in the PSAC with a plus-five turnover margin. The Huskies have not thrown an interception in 67 pass attempts.

CLEAN POCKET
Bloomsburg has allowed only one sack through three games and 67 pass attempts. The Huskies rank fourth nationally and share the PSAC lead with 0.33 sacks allowed per game.

Etheridge and Cowan Ruhland (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) have combined to complete 35 of 66 passes for 422 yards and two touchdowns without an interception.

Bloomsburg surrendered only 10 sacks throughout the 2025 season after allowing 17 in 2024.

RED-ZONE RESOLVE
Bloomsburg is a perfect 9-for-9 in the red zone, producing six touchdowns and three field goals. The Huskies are tied for first nationally in red-zone offense.

Bloomsburg scored on all six red-zone possessions at Gannon, producing four touchdowns and two field goals.

Defensively, the Huskies have allowed opponents to score on five of eight red-zone trips. Only four of those possessions have resulted in touchdowns. Bloomsburg ranks 17th nationally and second in the PSAC in red-zone defense.

BLOOMSBURG'S PASS DEFENSE VS. SHIPPENSBURG'S RECEIVERS: The Huskies are allowing 166.3 passing yards per game and have intercepted four passes. Shippensburg counters with Jensen and Adegunle, who leads the PSAC with 334 receiving yards and 111.3 yards per game.

CLANCY AND THE OFFENSIVE LINE VS. SHIPPENSBURG'S FRONT: Clancy is averaging 102.3 rushing yards per game and has surpassed 80 yards in each contest. Shippensburg is allowing 125 rushing yards per game and has recorded 18 tackles for loss.

TURNOVER MARGIN: Bloomsburg leads the PSAC with a plus-five turnover margin. Shippensburg has forced seven turnovers but has also lost five, including four fumbles.

THIRD-DOWN EXECUTION AND POSSESSION: Bloomsburg converted 11 of 18 third downs at Gannon and is operating at 42.2% for the season. Shippensburg leads the PSAC in time of possession at 34:01 per game and has converted 16 of 46 third downs.

Bloomsburg is averaging 299 yards and 24.7 points per game. The Huskies have produced 475 rushing yards and 422 passing yards while scoring nine touchdowns.

Clancy leads the ground game with 307 yards and three touchdowns. Wolfe has recorded 197 receiving yards and two scores, while Achenbach leads the team with 13 receptions.

The Huskies have scored on all nine red-zone possessions and have not thrown an interception. Bloomsburg has controlled the football for an average of 31:06 per contest.

Zimmerman is averaging 18 yards on six punt returns and 22.5 yards on eight kickoff returns. His 288 combined return yards rank ninth nationally and second in the PSAC.

Kashynski is 4-for-6 on field goals and perfect on eight extra-point attempts. He converted field goals from 30 and 31 yards at Gannon.

Danen Lorusso (Moorestown, N.J./Roman Catholic) is averaging 33.8 yards on 15 punts. He posted a season-best average of 38 yards with a season-long 44-yard punt at Gannon.

BACK AT REDMAN STADIUM
Saturday marks Bloomsburg's second home game of the season. The Huskies opened their home schedule with a 9-6 loss to Edinboro before earning a 33-27 overtime victory at Gannon.

Bloomsburg is seeking its second consecutive home victory against Shippensburg after defeating the Raiders, 20-10, at Redman Stadium in 2024.

Following Saturday's PSAC East opener, the Huskies travel to Lackawanna College for a 1 p.m. contest on Saturday, Oct. 3.

HOME SCHEDULE AND SPECIAL EVENTS
Bloomsburg opens PSAC East play against Shippensburg on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m. The contest will serve as the Tyler Horst Nutritional Center Celebration Game.

The Huskies host East Stroudsburg on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. for the Husky Legacy Club event and annual Think Pink game.

Bloomsburg welcomes Millersville for Homecoming and Family & Supporters Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. The contest will also serve as the annual Hall of Fame Game, with the 2026 inductees recognized at halftime.

The Huskies close their home schedule against West Chester on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m. for Senior Day and Military Appreciation Day.

HUDDLE WITH THE HUSKIES
For the third consecutive year, Huddle with the Huskies is being held at the West End Ale Haus on Main Street in Bloomsburg.

The remaining event is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 22. The program will serve as a midseason review and preview Bloomsburg's Homecoming and Hall of Fame matchup against Millersville on Oct. 24.

The event is open to the public. Appetizers will be available while supplies last beginning at 6 p.m., with a short program to follow. Head coach Frank Sheptock will discuss the season, preview upcoming games and introduce members of the coaching staff and team.

44TH ANNUAL HALL OF FAME CELEBRATION
The 2026 Bloomsburg Athletics Hall of Fame Class includes Shanna Fritz (field hockey), Denise Henderson (softball), Tom McGuire (sports information), Eric Miller (football), Steph Pettit (football), Kelly Reimert (swimming) and Brad Rozanski (wrestling).

The induction brunch and ceremony will take place Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Kehr Union Ballroom as part of Homecoming and Family & Supporters Weekend. Doors open at noon for a cocktail hour, lunch service begins at 12:45 p.m. and the induction ceremony follows at 1:30 p.m.

The seven-member class will increase the number of individuals enshrined in the Bloomsburg Athletics Hall of Fame to 225.

The 2027 John S. Devlin Golf Outing is scheduled for June 5, 2027. Registration information will be available soon. The 28th annual tournament will begin with a noon shotgun start at Frosty Valley Resort in Danville.
