TYRONE, Pa. – Rex Farr (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) recorded a top-five finish as the Bloomsburg men's cross country team opened the 2026 season with a third-place performance at the Father Bede Invitational on Saturday.
Farr completed the 6K course in 19:36.9 seconds to place fifth overall and lead the Huskies. He averaged 3:16 per kilometer and was less than 15 seconds behind individual champion Benjamin Shields of Duquesne.
Peter Tepper (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) was Bloomsburg's second finisher, placing 16th overall with a time of 21:03.1. Jacob Marino (Woodstown, N.J./Woodstown) followed in 19th place after crossing the finish line in 21:23.5.
Caden Boettger (Avoca, Pa./Pittston Area) gave the Huskies four runners among the top 25, placing 23rd in 21:47.0. Tyler Crumlich (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) completed Bloomsburg's scoring lineup with a 25th-place finish and a time of 22:10.0.
Sam Parsons rounded out the Huskies' competitors, finishing 43rd overall in 25:29.4.
Bloomsburg compiled 64 points and a combined scoring time of 1:46:00.4. The Huskies finished behind a a NCAA Division I program, with Duquesne winning the five-team meet with 21 points and host NCAA DIII Saint Francis placing second with 54. Juniata finished fourth with 112 points, followed by Christendom College with 121.
The Huskies return to competition at the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 26.
