Chad Cooperman started game one of the four-game series with Kutztown over the weekend and tossed a complete-game one-hit shutout to lift the Huskies to an 8-0 victory over the Golden Bears. The only hit Cooperman allowed was a line drive leadoff single to center in the top of the second inning. He walked two and struck out a career-high tying ten batters - his third career ten-strikeout performance. Bloomsburg's all-time strikeout king with 211, Cooperman needed only 95 pitches to improve to 2-0 on the season and, after the leadoff single in the second, he went on to retire the next 13 Kutztown hitters until allowing a one-out walk in the sixth. He also recorded six straight strikeouts in the second and third innings. It was his third career shutout which moved him into a tie for fourth on the school's all-time list.
