Junior Ryan Shiffer helped the Huskies' baseball team to a 2-0 record over the weekend in the team's opening two games in North Carolina. Shiffer went 2-for-5 with a double and four runs batted in during Bloomsburg's 13-4 victory on Saturday over West Virginia State. The Yellow Jackets are ranked ninth in the Atlantic Region according to this week's NCBWA rankings. Then, on Sunday, Shiffer went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in a 6-3 win over California (PA) which snapped the Vulcans' nine-game winning streak. All told, Shiffer batted .500 (4-of-8) with two doubles and five runs batted in. He currently leads the Huskies with 15 runs batted in through the first ten games of the year.
