Sophomore Vitoria Nery led the women's tennis team to a 3-0 week by winning all three of her doubles matches (with Cassidy Calimer) and all three of her singles matches in the three team victories. Nery and Calimer teamed up for an 8-1 win in doubles against Lycoming on Monday and then Nery won in straight sets of Devinity Apollon (6-0, 6-3) to help the Huskies to a 9-0 win over the Warriors. On Friday, Nery and Calimer earned an 8-2 win in doubles and then Nery took care of Megan Rovenolt in straight sets (6-3, 6-0) to lead Bloomsburg to a 7-2 win over Millersville. Finally, against West Chester on Saturday, Nery and Calimer earned an 8-4 win in doubles. Then, with the match tied at 4-4, it all came down to #2 singles where Nery was able to outlast Leandra Roelker (7-6, 3-6, 6-4) to give the Huskies their first victory over West Chester since the 2013-14 season.
Nery has won five straight singles matches to improve to 7-5 on the year. Meanwhile, in doubles, Nery and Calimer have won three straight and are now 8-6 on the season.
