Redshirt junior Kalynn Wheeland helped the Huskies to a 3-1 weekend, against divisional foes IUP and Mansfield, by going 8-of-14 (.571) with a home run and seven runs batted in during the four games. She had two hits in each of the four games and went 4-for-7 in the split against IUP on Friday and then 4-for-7 in the sweep at Mansfield on Saturday. She also drove in at least one run in all four games over the weekend.
On Friday, Wheeland went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the game one loss to IUP. She then went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the first inning and a walkoff RBI double in the bottom of the seventh to give the Huskies a 4-3 victory. She had four hits and three more RBI in Saturday's sweep at Mansfield.
She led the Huskies in batting average (.571), hits (8), home runs (1), RBI (7), on-base percentage (.563), and slugging percentage (.857) for the week. Wheeland currently ranks second in the conference in hitting this season with a .464 average (39-of-84) while ranking third in home runs (7) and fourth in RBI (33).
