Senior Kirsten O'Malley of the Bloomsburg University women's indoor track and field team broke her own school record in the triple jump as she highlighted the Huskies' action at the Houghton December Classic on Friday night. It marked the final meet during the 2018 portion of the regular season. O'Malley dominated the field in the triple jump as she posted a distance of 12.24 meters for an NCAA provisional mark. It broke her previous school record of 12.12 meters she established at the 2018 NCAA Division II National Indoor Championships. It also broke Houghton's Kerr-Pegula Fieldhouse record of 12.07 meters which was also previously held by O'Malley at last year's December Classic. The 12.24-meter mark is the best in the PSAC to date and is second in the country to Lewis' Cierra Pullium (13.10 meters). She also ran the second leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that finished second on Friday night with a time of 4:13.53 - the third-best time in the PSAC this season.
