SHIPPENSBURG – The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team had several members exceled in the first day of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Individual Championships hosted by Shippensburg University. It was a big day for Mark Schroeder (Basking Ridge, NJ, Ridge) who advanced over no. 4 Drew Slocum to play in the semi-finals tomorrow, October 10.

In the individual bracket, Ricky Dove (Port Matilda, State College Area) won his first match over West Chester's David Goldenberg [6-0,6-0]. In the second round, Dove advanced over Millersville's Erik Wright [6-0,6-0]. 

Schroeder who also competed in the men's singles, lost his first set to Slocum, before he rallied to win [3-6, 6-2 (13-11)]. Schroeder cruised past Kutztown's Andrew Zhu in the second round, winning [6-0, 6-2]. 
Both Dove and Schroeder will compete against each other in the semi-finals tomorrow in the individual's bracket.

For the doubles bracket, Dove and Schroeder had a bye for their first round and went on to play East Stroudsburg in the second round. 

The doubles pair advanced (8-2) to qualify for tomorrow's championship matchup against no. 1 Millersville's Preethem Moras and Drew Slocum.
