BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team opened its 2010-11 season with an 8-1 win over the University of Scranton on Wednesday night.

The Huskies took a 2-1 lead after doubles with the team of Ricky Dove (Port Matilda, State College Area) and Mark Schroeder (Basking Ridge, NJ, Ridge) winning 8-4 at number one.

In singles play, Dove rolled to an easy 6-0, 6-3 win at number one, while Jeff Nuhfer (Warren, Warren Area) pulled out a three-set win at number four,6-4,1-6, 6-2.

Bloomsburg will host the BU Invitational on Sept. 25-26.
