Mancil Sets New School Mark in the Pole Vault

BETHLEHEM—The Bloomsburg University women's indoor track team took part in the Lehigh Multi and Invite on Saturday.

In the pole vault competition Ashley Mancil (Bloomsburg, Bloomsburg) jumped 3.25 meters to grab eighth place overall and set a new school record in the process. Mancil broke her own mark of 3.15 meters set in early December of 2010. She also improved her PSAC-qualifying mark.

In the 400 meter dash, Jessica Segeleon (Bridgeville, South Fayette) took ninth in a time of 1:04.98, while at 200 meters Kaila Hassler (Schnecksville, Parkland) was also ninth in 28.27 seconds. In the mile run Kaitlyn McShay (Springfield, Cardinal O'Hara) was 15th in a time of 5:30.52.

In relay action the 4 x 400 team of Michelle Christmann (Oradell, NJ, River Dell), Hassler, Meagan McGeehan (Landisville/Hempfield ) and Segeleon were sixth in 4:26.62. At 800 meters the team of Lauren Bond (Hatfield, North Penn), Vicki Davis (New Ringgold, Schuylkill Haven), Martina Drew (Langhorne, Neshaminy )and Katie Filemyr (Willow Grove, Bishop McDevitt) was fifth in 10:16.48.

Bloomsburg will be back in action next Saturday at Bucknell.
