LEWISBURG, PA – The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team completed play this afternoon at the Bison Tennis Quad at Bucknell University. The Huskies competed against teams from Bucknell, Colgate, Niagara, and Youngstown State.
Ricky Dove (Port Matilda/State College Area) won his first round match in the “A” singles flight by defeating Niagara's Lorenz Schwojer, 6-4, 4-6, 10-0. Fellow classmate
Lee Wexler (Lafayette Hill/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) fell in his opening round match in the “B” flight, dropping his match against Colgate's Archer McFall in a tight three set battle, 1-6, 6-4, 10-7.
Bloomsburg's
Tyler Pultro (New Britain/Central Bucks West) picked up a win in the first round of the “B” flight, taking his match in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 against Niagara's Joe Zelic.
In doubles action Dove and Pultro combined for an 8-4 win over Colgate before dropping their next match 8-3 to Niagara.
