BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team (10-8-1, 7-6-1 PSAC) fell 3-1 to no. 4 nationally ranked California Pa. (16-0-2, 12-0-2 PSAC) in the quarterfinals of the PSAC playoffs. Bloomsburg gave up three first half goals, allowing the tournament's no. 1 seed to advance to the semifinals.
California's Carley Work scored the game's opening goal in the fourth minute of play. Just over 10 minutes later the Vulcans made it 2-0, scoring after a corner kick opportunity.
In the 31st minute California scored their final goal to make it 3-0 entering the half. The Huskies were limited to just one shot in the half to Cal's 10.
The second half would be much of the same as the Vulcans out-shot the Huskies 15-1. However, Bloomsburg made good on their lone shot of the half as
Jamie Vaniver (Holland/Council Rock South) tallied her third goal of the season in the 81st minute. Senior
Natalie Adams (Wilkes-Barre/Holy Redeemer) was credited with the assist.

Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) made seven saves in 90 minutes of action while her counterpart Paula Jackson made one. With the win California advances to the PSAC semifinals.
