MEET RESULTS
BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's swim team lost to Clarion University on Saturday by a score of 144.5 to 117.5 in front of a large crwod at the Nelson Field House pool. The Huskies achieved six PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) championship qualifying cuts on the day.
Leading the way for the men was
Jeremy Frey (Pipersville/Central Bucks East) with two PSAC cuts in the 200-back and 400-IM. Frey's winning time in the 200-back was 1:59.52, while his 400-IM time was 4:23.96. Freshman
Aaron Cancro (Limerick/Spring-Ford) posted PSAC cuts in the both the 100- and 200-backstroke. In the 100 Cancro's time of 55.17 seconds was good for first place, while his 200-backstroke time was 2:02.23.
The best effort of the day was turned in by freshman
Brandon Sherbo (Etters/Red Land) who achieved the cut in the 1650 free by an incredible 33 seconds finishing in first with a time of 16:57.29, fifth best on the school's all-time list in just his first time swimming the event.
Erik Stefferud (West Chester/Henderson) and
Mark DiLemmo (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) rounded out the efforts by posting cuts in the 100-fly and 200-fly respectively. Stefferud was 54.22 in the 100-fly, while DiLemmo was first in the 200-fly in 2:01.85.
