Matza Sets New School Record in Shot Put

SUSQUEHANNA—The Bloomsburg University women's indoor track team took part in Susquehanna Open on Saturday.

In the pole shot put competition Brooke Matza (Shavertown, Lake Lehman) had a toss of 10.31 meters to grab tenth place overall and set a new school record in the process.
Kaila Hassler (Schnecksville, Parkland) had a time of 7.73 in the 55 meter dash, while Valerie Homer (East Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg South) had a time of 7.77. Both were PSAC-qualifying performances.
In the 800 meter run, Jessica Selegon paced the Huskies, finishing seventh in 2:24.13. Martina Drew (Langhorne, Neshaminy ) had a time of 2:24.5 for a PSAC-qualifying time. Katie Meck (Dillsburg, Northern) also had a PSAC-qualifying performance in the 800 meter with a time of 2:24.95.
Kaitlyn McShay (Springfield, Cardinal O'Hara) took first place in the 3000 meter run with a PSAC-qualifying time of 10:43.49.
The Huskies recorded 18 PSAC qualifying performances on the day, both men and women combined.

Bloomsburg will be back in action next Saturday and Sunday at Edinboro for the PSAC Championships.
