BLOOMBSURG, PA – On a cold and windy afternoon, the Bloomsburg University men's tennis team won their first home match of the season, beating Wilkes University, 7-2, on Tuesday. Singles was played first, followed by doubles.
The Huskies won at all but one position in the singles, taking five of the six matches to seal the win.
Led by
Ricky Dove (Port Matilda/State College Area) winning 6-2, 6-1 at number one and
Mark Schroeder (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) at number two also winning 6-2, 6-1, the Huskies took control of the singles. Freshman
Tyler Pultro (New Britain/Central Bucks West) won a third set super tiebreaker to win 6-2, 3-6, 10-8.
Heading into doubles, the Huskies led 5-1 and showed their confidence by taking two of the three doubles points.

Tyler Pultro (New Britain/Central Bucks West) finished first at number 3 by winning 8-2. Juniors
Ricky Dove (Port Matilda/State College Area)/
Mark Schroeder (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) followed and finished at number 1 winning 8-4.
With the win, the Huskies improve to 4-2 on the season with their next match scheduled for April 1 against PSAC-rival Millersville University.
