Men's Tennis team Falls to Kutztown

KUTZTOWN--The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team lost to Kutztown on Thursday by a score of 6-3. With the win Kutztown clinched the top spot in next week's PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) championships.

The Huskies led 2-1 after doubles. Kutztown won the first doubles point at number three before the team of Ricky Dove (Port Matilda/State College Area) and Mark Schroeder (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) posted an 8-6 win at number one. Bloomsburg followed that up with a win by Jack McClurkin (Collegeville/Spring-Ford) and Tyler Pultro (New Britain/Central Bucks West) at number two, 8-5.

In singles play the Golden Bears rallied winning five of the six matches with two of those losses going three sets. The Huskies lone win came at number one where Dove scored a 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 win. The Golden Bears though clinched the match with a three-set win at six singles, 2-6, 7-6, 6-2.

Bloomsburg falls to 9-3, 4-1 in the PSAC, with the loss. The Huskies will face West Virginia Wesleyan in round one of the BU Duals on Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
