BLOOMSBURG--The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team beat Dowling College on Sunday by a score of 6-3.

Bloomsburg took a 2-1 lead after doubles with the number one team of Ricky Dove (Port Matilda/State College Area) and Mark Schroeder (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) winning 8-6 and the number three team of Lee Wexler (Lafayette Hill/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) and Tyler Pultro (New Britain/Central Bucks West) posting an easy 8-1 victory.

In singles action Jack McClurkin (Collegeville/Spring-Ford) and Evan Carney (West Winfield, NY/Mt. Markham) won at number five and six respectively to put the Huskies up 4-1. McClurkin by scores of 6-0, 6-0, while Carney won 6-1, 6-3. Wexler then clinched the match for the Huskies with a straight-set 6-3, 6-3 win at number four.

Bloomsburg also won at number one singles with Dove posting a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 win.

The Huskies, now 6-2, play at Millersville on Monday at 3 p.m.
