MEET RESULTS
BLOOMSBURG— The Bloomsburg University women's track and field qualified seven more athletes for the PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) championships to highlight the action at the Maroon and Gold Invitational on Saturday.
Earning a trip to PSAC's in the hammer with a school record was
Brooke Matza (Shavertown/Lake Lehman) with a throw of 39.78 m (130'6”). Also qualifying for PSAC's was
Emily Backel (Dillsburg/Northern York County) in the shot put (11.10 m (36.5”) and
Ashley Mancil (Bloomsburg/Bloomsburg) in the pole vault in 3.00 m (9'10”).
In track events
Michelle Christmann (Oradell, NJ/River Dell) in the 400 meter hurdles qualified with a time of 1:07.10, while
Jessica Shisler (Port Matilda/State College Area) qualified in both the 400 meters (58.68) and the 200 meter (26.03). Also in the 200 meters
Kaila Hassler (Schnecksville/Parkland) will be going to the PSAC championships after running 26.75 as will
Ashley Bauer (Temple/Muhlenberg) who ran a 2:24.01.
Improving their PSAC seeding placements were
Emily Backel (Dillsburg/Northern York County) in the discus (36.61 m, 120'1”),
Valerie Homer (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) in the 100 (12.80 seconds),
Kaitlyn McShay (Springfield/Cardinal O'Hara) in the 5000 (18:18.55),
Lauren Bond (Hatfield/North Penn) in the 5000 (18:46.98),
Vanessa Rimbey (Lehighton/Lehighton Area) in the 100 meter hurdles (15.64 seconds) and Alilia Anderson in the long jump in 5.16 meters (16'11.25”). Anderson also had a PR in the triple jump with a mark of 10.14 m (33'3.25”).
