BLOOMSBURG—A late goal by Natalie Adams (Wilkes-Barre/Holy Redeemer) bolstered the Huskies to a 2-1 win and their third victory of the season against the Marauders of Millersville University. The Huskies outshot Millersville 14-11 in the contest.

Action in the first half went back and forth as both teams looked for an early score. The first 43 minutes would not produce a score. The Huskies would break the stalemate as Caroline Mountney (Flourtown/Springfield) would carry the ball to the 18 before squeezing a ball through the middle to Tara Huber (Orefield/Parkland). Huber would take two touches as the keeper came out to make a save but Huber beat her with a perfectly placed ball to the left upper corner with just 1:59 to play in the half.

Neither team would score as the Huskies carried their 1-0 lead into the half. Bloomsburg outshot the Marauders in the first half 7-to-4, putting four of their shots on frame while Millersville had three on net.

The second half would be played at a very physical and competitive level. After a tackle in the box by a BU defender, Millersville's Taylor Suskie was awarded a penalty kick. Suskie would make good on the PK, bringing the game to a 1-1 tie.

Both teams would have ample opportunities to break the tie but the Huskies would make the most of their opportunities as they registered a late goal to go up 2-1. BU's Natalie Adams (Wilkes-Barre/Holy Redeemer) would register the game winner as she cleaned up a loose ball in front of the net on a cross by Jamie Vanvier.

The Huskies would prevent the Marauders from scoring another goal, leading to Bloomsburg's third win of the year. BU keeper Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) came up with seven saves in 90 minutes of action while Millersville's Laura Reed made six saves in the loss.

Bloomsburg will be back in action on September, 17th as they travel to take West Chester in a PSAC match-up. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
