BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team kicked off the first day of play at the BU Fall Classic today. Today's events consisted of singles and doubles matches between colleges from Bloomsburg, Bucknell, Mary Washington, Scranton and Ithaca.
Bloomsburg doubles combo
Ricky Dove (Port Matilda/State College Area) and
Jeff Nuhfer (Warren/Warren Area) went 1-1 as they earned wins in the “A” flight of doubles.
Tyler Pultro (New Britain/Central Bucks West) and
Mike DiSanto (Center Valley/Southern Lehigh) also participated in the “A” doubles flight, posting a perfect 2-0 record. In the “B” flight of doubles
Evan Carney (West Winfield, NY/Mt. Markham) and
Andres Prince (Blue Bell/Wissahickon) went a perfect 2-0 while
Nenyi Micah (Allentown/William Allen) and
Kyle Knittle (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) split their doubles matches.
In “A”singles play Dove went a perfect 2-0 winning both matches in a third set super tie-breaker while doubles partner Nuhfer went 1-1 in his matches in the “A” flight. Pultro won both of his singles matches in the “B” flight.
Evan Carney (West Winfield, NY/Mt. Markham) won both of his singles matches in the “C” flight, both coming in straight sets.
Andres Prince (Blue Bell/Wissahickon) and Michah took both of their singles matches in the “D” flight in straights.
The Huskies will wrap-up the Fall Classic as play resumes tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
