QUAKERTOWN—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Hofstra University.  Bloomsburg swept the doubles matches while Tyler Pultro (New Britain/Central Bucks West) won at fourth singles. 

In doubles action Bloomsburg won all three matches, giving up just nine of 33 games played.  The doubles team of Ricky Dove (Port Matilda/State College Area) and Mike DiSanto (Center Valley/Southern Lehigh) won at first doubles, 8-5 while Jeff Nuhfer (Warren/Warren Area) and Pultro earned an 8-3 decision at the second spot.  Mark Schroeder (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) and Andres Prince (Blue Bell/Wissahickon) won their match with ease at the third spot, 8-2.

Bloomsburg entered singles play with a 1-0 lead after doubles play.  The Huskies dropped five of six singles matches as they fell, 5-2.  Pultro was Bloomsburg's lone singles winner as he took a 6-4, 6-4 decision at the fourth spot. 

Dove lost by two breaks at first singles, 6-4, 6-4 while DiSanto fell by a break in each set as well at third singles, 6-3, 6-4. Evan Carney (West Winfield, NY/Mt. Markham) lost a close one as well, dropping his match 7-5, 6-4 at fifth singles.

Bloomsburg will be back in action next month when the Huskies travel to Hilton Head, SC for their spring break trip. The Huskies open spring break play by taking on Endicott at 6:30 p.m.
