BOX SCORE

STATE COLLEGE— Andres Prince (Blue Bell/Wissahickon) of the Bloomsburg University men's tennis team earned the team's lone win in a 6-1 loss to the University of Penn State.  Prince needed three sets to tally Bloomsburg's only point of the afternoon at sixth singles. 

The Nittany Lions swept the doubles matches, giving up four games total.  With the three losses, BU entered singles play trailing, 1-0.

Penn State earned straight set wins at first through fifth singles.  The closest match out of the five was at first singles as Bloomsburg's Ricky Dove (Port Matilda/State College Area) lost by two breaks in each set, 6-3, 7-5.

At sixth singles, freshman Andres Prince (Blue Bell/Wissahickon) pulled out a grinding three set win over Penn State's Ramy Labna.  Prince took the first set 6-2 but dropped the second by the same score. 

With the match already decided, a super tie-breaker was played to determine the winner.  Prince would go on to take the super breaker 10-7. 

Bloomsburg will be back in action on Sunday, February 19th as they travel to take on Hofstra University.  Match-time is scheduled for noon at the Tennis Zone.
