HILTON HEAD, SC—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team rallied for a 5-4 win over the University of Charleston (WV) on Tuesday.
The Huskies fell behind 2-1 after doubles action. Bloomsburg had three match points at number two doubles before falling by a score of 9-8 (9-7 in the tie-breaker).
In singles action the Huskies dropped matches at number two and three to fall behind by a score of 4-1.
But the Huskies rallied winning the final four matches, all in straight sets, to score the win.
Ricky Dove (Port Matilda/State College Area) got things going at number one winning 6-2, 6-3, while
Mike DiSanto (Center Valley/Southern Lehigh) at number six made it a 4-3 match winning 6-2, 6-1. The Huskies tied the match at 4-4 with a win from
Lee Wexler (Lafayette Hill/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) at four singles before
Tyler Pultro (New Britain/Central Bucks West) completed the big comeback winning 6-4, 6-2 at number five.
Bloomsburg is 4-2 on the season and will play Ithaca College on Wednesday.
