BLOOMSBURG—
Ricky Dove (Port Matilda/State College Area) of the Bloomsburg University men's tennis team (13-3, 5-0 PSAC) earned the deciding point in today's 5-4 win over West Virginia Wesleyan in day one of the BU Duals.
Bloomsburg's first doubles combination of

Tyler Pultro (New Britain/Central Bucks West) and
Mike DiSanto (Center Valley/Southern Lehigh) teamed up for an 8-4 win at the third position to give the Huskies a 2-1 advantage entering singles action.
West Virginia Wesleyan tied the match at 2-2 with a win at fourth singles but DiSanto put Bloomsburg back on top with a 6-2, 6-1 win at sixth singles. The Bobcats would again tie it up at 3-3 with a win at third singles but Pultro's 6-2, 6-2 win at the five spot put the Huskies just one win away from a victory.
At second singles, Schroeder fell in a highly competitive three set match, 7-6, 5-7, 6-4. With the loss the team score was fixed at four-all.
With the match on the line, Bloomsburg's hopes of winning came down Dove at first singles. Dove dropped the first set at 6-2 but rallied in the second, winning by a break, 6-4. In the third set, Dove proved to be too much as he outlasted his opponent for a 6-2 win giving Bloomsburg the 5-4 victory.
Bloomsburg will be back on the courts tomorrow as they take on Bluefield State at 8:30 a.m. in day two of the BU Duals.
