BLOOMSBURG—
Kelsey Davis (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) set a school record in the pole vault to highlight day two action of the Husky Open at Bloomsburg University.
Davis, who had the school record earlier this season, broke her own mark with a vault of 3.40 meters (11'1 ¾”) and took first place in the competition.
In addition, three other members of the Huskies posted PSAC championship qualifying marks during the day.
In the 100 meters hurdles
Vanessa Rimbey (Lehighton/Lehighton Area) qualified with a time of 16.13 seconds. She also qualified for the PSAC Championships in the long jump with a mark of 5.15 meters (16' 10 ¾”) while taking first place on Saturday.
At 800 meters
Lauren Lehman (Mt. Holly Springs/Boiling Springs), who previously qualified for PSAC's at this distance, was second on Saturday in 2:19.75, while
Lauren Bond (Hatfield/North Penn) posted an PSAC qualifying time of 2:22.85.
In the 400 meter hurdles Michelle Christman qualified for PSAC's and was third overall in the field with a time of 1:08.05.
At 1500 meters
Bridget McDermott (Glenolden/Cardinal O'Hara) took first in5:19.73, while at 200 meters
Valerie Homer (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) was third in 26.92.
BUCKNELL MEET
Bloomsburg also had some runners competing at Bucknell on Saturday.
In the 3,000 meter Steeplechase
Katie Filemyr (Willow Grove/Bishop McDevitt) ran a 10:49.69 to post an NCAA championship provisional time, while also breaking her own school record in the event by more than 18 seconds.
At 5,000 meters
Samantha Matthews (Windsor/Glenelg) ran 18:50, while at 10,000 meter
Kaitlyn McShay (Springfield/Cardinal O'Hara) posted a PSAC-qualifying time of 37:05, the fourth best time in the conference this year.
