BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team (11-2, 4-0 PSAC) won their 10th straight match as the Huskies dismissed West Chester (6-9, 1-3 PSAC), 8-1.
For the third straight match the Bloomsburg doubles teams swept all three doubles matches. The Huskies earned a pair of 8-1 victories at first and third doubles while the duo of
Jeff Nuhfer (Warren/Warren Area) and
Lee Wexler (Lafayette Hill/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) picked up an 8-4 win at the two spot.
Bloomsburg won five of six singles matches with four of their wins coming in straight sets.
Ricky Dove (Port Matilda/State College Area) was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at first singles while
Mark Schroeder (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) blanked his opponent at the second spot 6-0, 6-0.
Nuhfer claimed a 6-2, 6-2 win at third singles while doubles partner Wexler battled his way to a 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 win at fourth singles.
Tyler Pultro (New Britain/Central Bucks West) was Bloomsburg's final singles winner as he cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win which gives him 11 straight singles victories, the longest win streak by any BU netter this season.
The Huskies will be back on the courts this Friday, April 6 as Bloomsburg hosts the Patriots of George Mason in a 3:30 p.m. match.
