STORYLINE
The Huskies will celebrate Homecoming Weekend with a pair of key PSAC contests this weekend at Sports Stadium. First, #24 Slippery Rock visits Friday at 3 p.m. before Bloomsburg welcomes #13 California (PA) on Saturday at 5 p.m. Bloomsburg looks to keep its strong play at home alive, entering the contest with a 3-1 record at Sports Stadium including a victory in its last time out vs. Mansfield.
 
LAST TIME OUT
(Box Score) This past Saturday the Huskies defeated Mansfield, 3-1. In the first half of the contest freshman Jenna Fisher (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) scored the first goal of the game after 18 minutes of play.  A second goal of the first half was scored off of an assist from Jamie Vaniver (Holland/Council Rock South) who crossed the ball to Allie Camp (Beavertown/Midd-West) to make the score 2-0. Camp's tally was her first goal with the Huskies in her freshman season.  After Mansfield cut the lead to 2-1 before half, senior Tara Huber (Orefield/Parkland) scored off a pass from teammate Stephanie Tuccio (Exton/Bishop Shanahan) in the 58th minute to effectively put the match away. Junior goalkeeper Danielle Fiorelli (Warrington/Villa Joseph Marie) made five saves in goal for the Huskies.
 
SCOUTING SLIPPERY ROCK
Nationally-ranked Slippery Rock will enter this contest with an overall record of 6-2-1 and a PSAC record of 5-2-1 and stands No. 24 in the latest Division II national rankings released Oct. 8. The Rock is currently ranked third in the PSAC for team goals with a total of 19. Leading The Rock in goals is Andrea Felix with seven goals, three of which she scored in SRU's last game against Mercyhurst, a 6-0 win. Goalkeeper Dana O'Neill has a 0.74 GAA this year including two shutouts. The Rock captured the PSAC championship last season, also earning its second straight trip to the NCAA Sweet 16, and is led by reigning PSAC and Atlantic Region Coach of the Year Noreen Herlihy.

(Box Score) On Oct. 3, 2012, Bloomsburg fell on the road to Slippery Rock, 5-1. Lauren Kreglow (Whitehall/Allentown Central Catholic) scored the first goal of the game in the 20th minute of the match to give the Huskies an early lead. The Rock came back with one goal in the first half, and then four more in the second half to pull away and secure victory.  Goalkeeper Danielle Fiorelli (Warrington/Villa Joseph Marie) had 11 saves in goal.
 
SCOUTING CALIFORNIA (PA)
Perennial PSAC power California has returned to the top of the conference this season, winning seven straight matches entering Friday. The Vulcans' only conference loss came at Slippery Rock in its season-opener on Sept. 5. Ranked No. 13 in the latest NSCAA Top 25, Cal has outscored its opposition 27-1 during its current seven-match winning streak including six straight shutouts and have kept its opponents scoreless over a span of over 575 minutes. Junior midfielder Hailey Henderson paces the offense with five goals while sophomore forward Janelle McCann and junior midfielder Chelsea Crockett each have four. Junior goalkeeper Ashley Magruda has seen the lion's share of time in net, starting seven matches while posting a 0.40 GAA with 15 saves.

(Box Score) Cal scored a 4-0 win on its home turf on Oct. 9, 2012, with four second half goals after the teams played to scoreless tie in the first 45 minutes. Danielle Fiorelli (Warrington/Villa Joseph Marie) had 12 saves for the Huskies.

WOMEN'S CANCERS RESEARCH DONATIONS
The Huskies are holding a fundraiser for women's cancer research this Saturday. Donate bottle caps and can tabs at home athletic events this weekend which will go toward women's cancers research. T-shirts and bracelets will be on sale at the game on Oct. 12 as well.

FRESHMAN STEPPING UP
Freshman Jenna Fisher (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) continues to lead the PSAC in goals this season after notching her eighth score of the year in the victory over Mansfield last Saturday. Her 17 points also are the second-most of any player in the conference so far in 2013. Her hat trick against Davis & Elkins last month also puts her in a tie for the most goals scored by any player in the nation in a single game this season – she's one of 56 Division II players to accomplish the feat this year.

OFFENSE ADDING UP
Bloomsburg is currently ranked tied fourth in the PSAC for goals so far this season with 19 goals along with Slippery Rock which has also tallied 19 scores.
