Fiorelli’s Shutout Leads the Huskies to Victory

Box Score BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team defeated Clarion 2-0 Wednesday in its last regular season Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) home game at Sports Stadium.
 
Tara Huber (Orefield/Parkland) set up the Huskies first goal of the game when she dribbled through three defenders and crossed the ball to Jenna Fisher (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) in front who found the back of the net to go up 1-0 over the Golden Eagles with 25:29 on the clock.
 
Only 51 seconds into the second half the Huskies scored their second goal of the game.  Tara Huber (Orefield/Parkland) passed defenders up the middle on a breakaway and shot low left past the keeper.  Bloomsburg took a 2-0 lead which it would hold for the rest of the game.
 
In goal Danielle Fiorelli (Warrington/Villa Joseph Marie) recorded her second shutout of the season by making seven saves in the game.
 
The Huskies, who move to 8-9 overall and 6-9 in the PSAC, outshot the Golden Eagles 20-13.  Clarion moves to (4-9-3, 3-9-3).
 
Bloomsburg travels to Indiana (PA) Saturday, Nov. 2 for its final conference game of the season with a 1 p.m. start.
