EDINBORO—Bloomsburg University's
Kelsey Davis (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) set a school record in the pole vault to highlight day one action at the PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Indoor Track and Field Championships being held at the Edinboro University.
Davis broke her own school record and posted an NCAA provisional with a mark of 3.67 meters (12'0 ½”) to finish second overall at PSAC's. Davis didn't miss an attempt until the bar rose to 3.77 (12' 4 1/2") and improved her standing on the national list to 21st.
Along with Davis, the Huskies 4 x 800-relay team of
Vicki Davis (New Ringgold/Schuylkill Haven),
Jessica Segeleon (Bridgeville/South Fayette),
Katie Filemyr (Willow Grove/Bishop McDevitt) and
Lauren Bond (Hatfield/North Penn), the defending PSAC champs, finished second with a time of 9:29.04 for All-PSAC honors. The Huskies held the lead after two laps but were outkicked over the last 120 meters of the last leg to come up just short. Their performance does rank them number two all-time at Bloomsburg.
At 400 meters
Alexis Rankin (Hatboro/Hatboro-Horsham) was 13th in 59.80 seconds, while in the 60-meter dash
Valerie Homer (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) was 13th in 8.08 seconds. In the 60-meter hurdles
Amanda Darling (Mt. Bethel/Bangor ) was just off her season best with a time of 9.88 with
Kelsey Harm (Boothwyn/Cardinal O'Hara) taking 16th at 5000 meters in 18:41.80.
In the 20lb weight throw
Tayler Harkins (Lansdale/North Penn) had a throw of 12.59 meters (41' 3 ¾”), but did not place.
