BIRMINGHAM, AL—Bloomsburg University's
Vicki Davis (New Ringgold/Schuylkill Haven) set a new school record at 5000 meters on Friday at the NCAA Division II national indoor track and field championships being held in Birmingham, AL as part of the Division II Sports Festival.
Davis, a senior, ran a 16:50.20 to finish 11th overall in the field. Davis broke her own school record of 16:57.45 set earlier this year.
Bloomsburg head coach
Bernie Empie was thrilled for Davis.
“I am very proud of how she ran and how well she represented Bloomsburg University,” said Empie.
Davis was the first-ever Bloomsburg women's indoor track and field athlete to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
