MILLERSVILLE—
Vicki Davis (New Ringgold/Schuylkill Haven) took home first place in both the 1500 meter and 3000-meter Steeplchase and set two school records in the process on Saturday for the Bloomsburg University women's track and field team at the 2013 PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Championships.
Davis started the day running the 1500 meters in school-record and NCAA provisional time of 4:34.47. She broke the record of
Katie Meck (Dillsburg/Northern) who had posted a time of 4:37.61 in 2011.
For Davis the day ended with her winning the 3000-meter Steeplechase with a school record and NCAA provisional time of 10:34.52. She broke her own school record set earlier this season of 10:38.47.
In the Steeplechase the Huskies
Katie Filemyr (Willow Grove/Bishop McDevitt) took fourth with an NCAA provisional time of 10:58.27, while at 1500 meters
Lauren Lehman (Mt. Holly Springs/Boiling Springs) took fifth in 4:40.34.
Also placing for the Huskies in the discus was
Tayler Harkins (Lansdale/North Penn) who took second with a personal-best throw of 39.70 meters/130'3”, while at 400-meters
Alexis Rankin (Hatboro/Hatboro-Horsham) took fifth in 58.16 seconds.
At 800-meters
Lauren Bond (Hatfield/North Penn) finished seventh in 2:19.89, while in the javelin Erika Feerrar was seventh with a throw of 38.11 meters/125'0”.
In the 4 x 400 relay the Huskies took 12th in 4:08.97 with the team of
Ashley Bauer (Temple/Muhlenberg),
Jessica Segeleon (Bridgeville/South Fayette), Rankin and
Michelle Christmann (Oradell, NJ/River Dell).
Also competing on Saturday was
Nechole Hill-Perry (Harrisburg/SciTech) in the discus who finished 11th with a throw of 34.47 meters/113'1”.
As a team the Huskies finished seventh with 65 points.
