PUEBLO, CO—For the second time in as many nights Bloomsburg University's Vicki Davis (New Ringgold/Schuylkill Haven) earned All-American honors at the NCAA Division II national track and field championships after finishing eighth at 5000-meters.

Davis, who took fifth in the Steeplechase on Friday night, finished in 17:25.37 for the 3.1 mile race. Alicia Nelson of Adams State, who won the Steeplechase on Friday, won for the second time pulling away from Brenae Edwards of Mansfield on the final lap finishing in 16:56.82 with Edwards running 17:03.94.

For Davis, running in her third NCAA Championship event in 2012-13, the second All-American honor caps off a great year. She was named both the Senior Female Scholar-Athlete Award winner and the winner of the Eleanor Wray Senior Female Athlete of the Year at Bloomsburg's annual end of the year awards banquet earlier this month. Davis was also named the MVP of both the cross country and the indoor track & field teams.  A Secondary Education/History major, Davis has a 3.74 GPA. She earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) All-Academic honors and was named a Bloomsburg University Scholar-Athlete.  In cross country, she was the runner-up at the NCAA Atlantic Regional and the PSAC Championships, qualifying at the regional for the NCAA Division II Championships.  In track & field, she holds the school's indoor records in the mile (5:01.31), the 3,000-meter run (9:54.95), and the 5,000-meter run (16:57.45), and the outdoor record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:38.47) and at 5,000 meters (16:50.44).

In the winter at the PSAC Indoor track championships Davis was second at 3000 meters to earn All-PSAC honors with her time of 9:54.95 beating the previous school-record by nearly 10 seconds. She also finished second in the mile run in 5:02.81 to earn All-PSAC honors and was also part of the Huskies 4 x 800-relay team that took second place in 9:29.04 at the PSAC Championships. She also qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships at 5000 meters, where she finished 11th in 16:50.20 breaking her own school record of 16:57.45 set earlier in year.

She was also named All-Atlantic Region by the USTFCCCA and has competed at the NCAA Championships in both cross country and the indoor track & field leading the Huskies to their best team finish at the national championships as a junior in 2011.
