STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg men's soccer team opens its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference schedule this weekend by hitting the road for two contests against PSAC newcomers Seton Hill (5 p.m. on Friday) and Pitt-Johnstown (4 p.m. on Saturday). The Huskies enter the weekend's play with a 1-1 record.

LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies finished with a split of their season-opening non-conference pair of matches against St. Thomas Aquinas (1-0 win) and N.Y. Institute of Technology after falling, 2-1, on Tuesday to NYIT at Sports Stadium. NYIT broke what was a 1-1 tie with a breakaway goal in the 70th minute to secure the win.

SCOUTING SETON HILL
The Griffins also stand 1-1 after opening their season with a 4-2 victory over Shepherd before dropping a 1-0 decision in double overtime vs. Lake Erie last Sunday. Seton Hill was selected to finish 11th in the PSAC Preseason Soccer Poll and returns seven starters from last year's team which went 4-13-2 while playing in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

ALL-TIME SERIES
First meeting.

SCOUTING PITT-JOHNSTOWN
Like Seton Hill, Pitt-Johnstown joined the PSAC on July 1, jumping from the WVIAC. The Mountain Cats have played just one match entering the weekend, suffering a 2-0 loss at Georgian Court (N.J.) last Sunday. UPJ is a young squad - it welcomed 10 newcomers to the roster this fall while boasting three seniors and one junior with the rest of the squad made up of underclassmen. The Mountain Cats were selected 12th in the PSAC preseason coaches' poll.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg leads, 8-1.

MAKING SAVES
Huskies goalkeeper Bernie Roell (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) began the season with a shutout victory over St. Thomas Aquinas on Sept. 5. It marked the 10th shutout for Roell during his BU career, breaking a tie for fourth place in BU history. Roell also has 11 saves through the first two matches of the year, second in the PSAC to Jason Barbarino of Gannon (17).

MOVIN' ON UP
Fran Miller (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) posted an assist in Tuesday's match vs. NYIT, the 13th assist of his Husky career. He now stands in a tie for eighth all-time in BU assists.

HAPPY TRAVELS
The Huskies will look to keep their winning ways on the road alive after winning at St. Thomas Aquinas to start the season. Last year, Bloomsburg struggled away from home, posting a 2-4-2 road record. The Huskies will seek a repeat of 2011 when they found success on the road with a 5-3-2 record on the way to an eventual trip to the PSAC Championship Game.

UP NEXT
The Huskies will return home on Wednesday, Sept. 18 to host Chestnut Hill at 7:30 p.m. inside Sports Stadium.
