BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University dropped its season opener to West Chester on Saturday by a score of 168.5-98.5 at the Nelson Field House pool.
 
Bloomsburg had two individual winners with Jake Harner (Philadelphia/Father Judge) taking first in the 100-breaststroke in 57.31 seconds with A.J. Brady (Wilmington, DE/Delaware Military Academy) grabbing a first in the 200-back in 1:58.39. Harner also had a second place finish in the 200-IM with a mark of 1:56.61.
 
In the 100-back Aaron Cancro (Limerick/Spring-Ford) and Brady finished second and third with Cancro swimming 54.88 and Brady going 55.10.
 
In the distance events senior Brandon Sherbo (Etters/Red Land) took third in both the 500- and 1000-free events. In the 1000 he posted a time of 10:06.79, while in the 500 he went 4:53.67. The Huskies closed out the meet winning the 400-free relay in 3:11.72 with the team of Alex Otero (Allentown/Parkland), Josh Grzech (Mountain Top/Crestwood), Eric Usbeck (Lake Ariel/Wallenpaupack Area) and Alex McCullough (Pottstown/OJ Roberts).
 
Bloomsburg is back in the water on Friday at Gannon starting at 5 p.m.
