STORYLINEThe women's swim team swim at Gannon on Friday, Nov. 7 at 5 p.m. and then travel to Edinboro on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 12 p.m.

LAST TIME OUTThe Huskies defeated West Chester, 161-101, on Saturday, Nov. 1 for its first win over the Golden Rams since the 1998-99 season. The Huskies started quickly on the day taking first and second in the 400-medley relay with the team of
Alex Wheatley, Nikki Young,
Rachel Brooker and
Ashley Dix winning in a time of 4:00.38. In the 200-free
Caroline Hodgins and
Meghan Gallagher went 1-2 for the Huskies with Hodgins winning in 1:56.02 and Gallagher taking second in 1:57.07. Gallagher later came back and took first in both the 50- and 100-free events swimming 24.92 in the 50 and 54.57 in the 100. Wheatley swept the backstroke events taking first in both the 100 and 200 events winning with a time of 59.85 in the 100 and 2:13.63 in the 200. Also in the 200-back the Huskies finished 2-3 with
Megan Carey and
Karly Hursey. Returning NCAA-qualifier
Rachel Brooker also swept two events for the Huskies taking first in the 200-fly in 2:11.08 and the 100-fly in 59.67.
SCOUTING GANNON To open the season, the Golden Knights claimed the team title at the Westminster (Pa.) Relays Friday, Oct. 24.
Madeline Summers, Amanda Knapp and
Meghan Terwilliger earned first (3:03.23) in the 3x100 butterfly relay to open the event.
Lauren Barlow, senior Michelle Fischl and
Samantha Favret claimed first (3:04.95) in the 3x100 backstroke relay. In the 800-free relay, the team of
Shanen Lazenby, Makayla Williams, Michelle Franzen and
Katie Joseph secured first in 8:11.10. Fischl,
Emily Nottingham, Joseph and Franzen claimed first (4:49.64) in the 500-yard crescendo free relay. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Knapp, Favret, Nottingham and
Morgan Lydic earned first (1:40.18). Fischl,
Abby Wu, Summers and Knapp snagged first (4:12.67) in the 400-yard medley relay.

LAST MEETINGBloomsburg defeated nationally-ranked Gannon last year, 206-197. In the 200-free, the Huskies finished second and third with
Ashley Dix taking second at 2:01.20 and teammate
Kristina Halner coming in third at 2:01.64. The Huskies 800-free relay team of
Alison Bradway, Meghan Gallagher,
Brooke Gilson and Dix also were second with their time of 8:09.33. The 400-free relay squad of Brooker, Dix, Gallagher and
Jenna Yohey were also second at 3:46.61.
Kaci McIlmoyle recorded a PSAC qualifying time of 2:14.58 in the 200-fly with her third place finish.

SCOUTING EDINBOROThe Fighting Scots defeated Tiffin in a 123-82 victory during their home opener on Saturday, Nov. 1. Edinboro improved to 2-0 on the season in dual competition with the win. Staci Schrecongost finished first in the 200 yard freestyle with a mark of 1:57.06 and in the 100-free with a time of 54.07. Holly Stein was recognized at the meet for garnering All-American honors last season. The relay team of
Morgan Joseph,
Holly Stein,
Breanna Purnell and Schrecongost recorded a first-place finish in the 200-medley relay with a mark of 1:51.21.
Mary Rosati finished first in the 1000-free at 11:00.51, while
Holly Stein posted a first-place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a mark of 1:07.78. The quartet of
Breanna Purnell,
Cheyenne Kressley,
Charlotte Drozda and
Megan Gaza closed the meet by pacing the 200-free relay with a time of 1:44.98.

LAST MEETINGThe Huskies fell to Edinboro last season, 135-127. In a back and forth meet the Huskies came up short in the relays losing in the 200-medley by 0.32 seconds (1:50.75-1:51.07) and in the 200-free relay by 0.21 seconds (1:39.82-1:40.03). Four Huskies each posted two PSAC-qualifying marks giving the Huskies a total of 12 PSAC times for the day.
Brooke Gilson posted PSAC-qualifying time in the 500- and 10000-free, while
Nicole Young (Trooper/Methacton) had marks in the 100- and 200-breast with
Rachel Brooker in the 100- and 200-fly and
Kaci McIlmoyle in the 200-back and 200-IM. Gilson won both of her events finishing the 500-free in 5:15.50 and 10:43.28 in the 1000-free.
