Richard Perry (Meriden, CT/Middletown) captured the 197 pound title at the 2014 Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) Championships and claimed an automatic bid the NCAA Championships leading the Bloomsburg University wrestling team to a second place finish in the team competition. The Huskies finished with 113 points and will send six wrestlers to the NCAA Championships in less than two weeks.

Perry, who had finished third and second the last two years respectively at EWL's, captured the 2014 in style winning by fall in the finals over Phil Sprenkle of Lock Haven in 6:47. The tournament started with a quarterfinal bye before a win by major decision of Matt Meadows of George Mason, 14-6.

The two wins improved Perry to 31-1 on the year and stretched his winning streak to a school-record 30 straight matches.

Wilcox earned his second straight trip to the NCAA Championships by finishing second at 133 pounds. He started the day with 4-2, OT win of Cody Wheeler of Lock Haven. In the semifinals, after trailing most of the match, Wilcox came back with a win by fall in 5:42 over Sam Sherlock of Clarion to reach the finals and clinch a trip to NCAA's. In the finals he lost to AJ Schopp of Edinboro by technical fall, 18-0, to finish second.

Busler earned his second trip to the NCAA's by taking second at 149 pounds. Busler's day started with a 16-1 win by technical fall over Donald Takagi of George Mason in the quarterfinals. In the semis he beat Justin Arthur of Clarion, 9-6, to reach the title match. In the finals David Habat of Edinboro beat Busler, 6-0.

Veltre finished second and earned his second straight trip to the NCAA Championships. Veltre opened the tournament with a win by fall in 1:19 over Michael Pavasko of Clarion in the quarterfinals then beat Jacob Kemerer of Lock Haven, 4-0, to reach the finals. In the finals Veltre led Ramon Santiago of Rider 1-0 late into third period before Santiago scored a late takedown to pull out a 2-1 win.

Dessino earned his third trip to the NCAA Championships by finishing second at 174 pounds. After receiving a quarterfinal bye Dessino beat Patrick Jennings of Edinboro, 4-1, then lost to Connor Brennan of Rider, 9-4.

For the second straight year Grant will make a trip to the NCAA Championships after finishing second. The day for Grant started with a 2-0 win over Greg Velasco of Rider in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals Grant beat Riley Shaw of 11-7 to reach the title match. In the finals Grant hooked up with Ernest James of Edinboro with James pulling out a 3-1, OT victory.

Boylan took third coming through the consolation bracket winning two matches. He opened the day with a bye before falling to Kory Mines of Edinboro, 2-1. In the consolation semifinals Boylan, seeded third, beat Hunter Jones of Clarion, 6-0, then won by major decision Kaleb Lemaire of Lock Haven, 14-0, to claim third.

Rappo placed fifth at 141 pounds. He started the day falling to Tyler Bedelyon of Clarion by fall in the quarterfinals. In the consolation semi's He fell to Sahid Kargbno of George Mason before beating Bedelyon by fall in 3:33 in the fifth place match.

Hartnett claimed fifth place at 157 pounds for the Huskies. He started the day beating Wayne Stinson of Rider, 5-3, in the quarterfinals before falling Austin Matthews of Clarion in the semifinals. In the consolation semifinals Harnett lost to Elias Biddle, 9-2, before coming back to beat Stinson, 6-4, and take fifth place.

Shirey was sixth for the Huskies at 184 pounds missing his last match due to injury. Shirey won by decision over Xavier Dye of Cleveland State, 9-6, in the quarterfinals, before falling to Victor Avery of Edinboro by fall in the semifinals. In the consolation semifinals Dustin Conti of Clarion won 7-1 before the injury default.
