Wrestling | 11/4/2026 3:25:00 PM

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg wrestling team continues its challenging early-season schedule Saturday, Nov. 7, when the Huskies travel to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, for the Journeymen Collegiate Duals. Bloomsburg will face Sacred Heart at 10 a.m. before taking on Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Duke at noon. The Huskies will remain in Bethlehem for the Journeymen Round Robin on Sunday, Nov. 8, beginning at 9 a.m.

Head coach John Stutzman and the Huskies enter the weekend following a busy opening day of competition that featured a dual against Big Ten opponent Wisconsin and a fifth-place team finish at the Clarion Open on Nov. 1.

Bloomsburg opened its dual schedule with a 32-7 setback against Wisconsin but came away with two individual victories, including an impressive ranked win by freshman Morgan Schwarz (South Brunswick, N.J./Saint Joseph) at 165 pounds. The Huskies also accumulated 27 team points at the Clarion Open, with several wrestlers earning individual victories and three finishing fifth in their respective weight classes.

Saturday's competition provides Bloomsburg with an opportunity to earn its first dual victory of the season before returning to individual tournament competition Sunday.

THE MATCH(ES)
Bloomsburg enters the Journeymen Duals with an 0-1 overall record following its season-opening matchup against Wisconsin. The Huskies are 0-0 in Mid-American Conference competition.

The weekend features two dual opponents from different conferences, with Sacred Heart representing the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association and Duke competing in the ACC.

Bloomsburg and Sacred Heart are familiar opponents, having met during the 2025-26 campaign. The Huskies will look to continue their success against the Pioneers after earning a dual victory over Sacred Heart last season.

The Duke matchup presents another opportunity for Bloomsburg to test its lineup against a Power Four conference opponent. Sunday's Journeymen Round Robin will allow additional Huskies to gain competition experience as Bloomsburg continues to establish its lineup and develop depth throughout November.

THE SERIES – SACRED HEART
Bloomsburg holds a 10-4 advantage in the all-time series against Sacred Heart dating to the programs' first meeting Jan. 5, 2010. The Huskies have won seven of the last 10 meetings and enter Saturday riding a two-match winning streak against the Pioneers.

The Huskies earned a 28-13 victory in the most recent meeting Dec. 20, 2025, at a neutral-site competition in Lexington, Virginia. Bloomsburg also defeated Sacred Heart, 23-17, on Feb. 1, 2025, in Fairfield, Connecticut.

The series includes a 47-0 Bloomsburg shutout Dec. 3, 2011, as well as 36-6 and 34-11 victories in 2022 and 2023. Bloomsburg defeated Sacred Heart, 28-18, at a Journeymen event in Bethlehem on Nov. 11, 2023. Sacred Heart's most recent series win came Feb. 3, 2024, by a 31-11 score.

The programs are scheduled to meet again Dec. 20 in Fairfield, Connecticut.

THE SERIES – DUKE

Bloomsburg and Duke will meet for the third time in the series history with the Blue Devils holding a 2-0 advantage.

Duke earned a 29-9 victory Dec. 19, 2021, in Durham, North Carolina, before defeating Bloomsburg, 32-6, on Nov. 5, 2022, at a neutral-site competition in College Park, Maryland.
