Full ResultsBLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg University women's swimming team held its first official competition of 2015 on Friday night at Nelson Field House pool and made the most of it by defeating visiting Susquehanna, 120-82.

Before the meet, the Huskies honored their three senior members taking part in their final home event –
Alison Bradway (Tabernacle, NJ/Seneca),
Rachel Brooker (Stevens/Cocalico ) and
Erin Cannaday (Medford, NJ/Bishop Eustace).

Once the action got underway the Huskies quickly established dominance.
Â
The Huskies seized victory in the 400 medley relay as the team of Brooker, Nikki Young,
Alex Wheatley (Dresher/Upper Dublin) and
Meghan Gallagher (Aston/Sun Valley) won with a time of 3:59.32.
Â
Cannaday won in the 100 butterfly with her time of 1:02.54, just under the PSAC qualifying standard.

Bloomsburg claimed the top two spots in the 1000 free with
Caroline Hodgins (Schwenksville, PA) earning the victory with a time of 10:38.37 and teammate
Karly Hursey (Hampstead, MD/Carroll, MD) finishing second at 11:00.27, each with conference qualifying standards.
Â
Hodgins also won in the 100 free with a time of 55.19, just ahead of teammate
Kate Cossitor (Morgantown, PA/Twin Valley) who was second with a 56.73.

Gallagher won the 200 free with her time of 1:57.41, leading teammates
Lauren Minford (Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) who was second at 2:03.80 and
Ashley Dix (Schwenksville/Perkiomen Valley) who finished third at 2:04.02.

Samantha Campbell (Clifton Heights, PA/Upper Darby) gave the Huskies another win in the 50 free with her time of 25.52, also meeting the PSAC qualifying standard.

Young was a winner in the 200 IM, touching first at 2:12.31. and also registered a lifetime best unrested in-season effort of 1:06.89 in the 100 breaststroke.

Wheatley and
Kaci McIlmoyle (Landenberg/Avon Grove) claimed the top two spots in the 100 backstroke, with Wheatley touching first at 59.89 and McIlmoyle finishing second with a mark of 1:03.51.

Meghan Gallagher (Aston/Sun Valley) and
Brooke Gilson (Whitehall/Whitehall) gave the Huskies yet another 1-2 finish in the 500 free, with Gallagher winning at 5:21.52 and Gilson second with her time of 5:24.71, each under the conference qualifying mark. For Gallagher, it was her best-ever time in the event.

"We had some outstanding swims tonight, especially coming off our winter training in Florida," head coach
Stu Marvin said. "The team is physically tired, but they swam very well."

The Huskies women are back in action Sunday at East Stroudsburg in a meet that has been postponed from its originally scheduled Saturday time due to forecasted inclement weather.
