Women's Swimming | 11/13/2015 2:47:00 PM

Bloomsburg (3-2) at Clarion (2-3)
Saturday, November 14
1:00 PM – Tippin Natatorium (Clarion, Pa.)

The Bloomsburg University women's swimming team will be looking to earn its fourth straight victory of the season on Saturday, November 14, when it travels to Clarion University to compete against the Golden Eagles. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from Tippin Natatorium.

The Huskies have rattled off three consecutive victories with all three wins coming last weekend at the Nelson Field House Pool. Last Saturday, November 7, Bloomsburg defeated both Millersville University (139-56) and Gannon University (125-77) in a tri-meet. The night prior, the Huskies took care of Dickinson College by a 112-82 final.

Senior Alex Wheatley (Dresher/Upper Dublin), junior Nikki Young (Trooper/Methacton), sophomore Kate Cossitor (Morgantown/Twin Valley), and senior Meghan Gallagher (Aston/Sun Valley) opened the tri-meet with a victory in the 200-meter medley relay after posting a time of 1:48.76 – the fastest time in the PSAC and the ninth-best time in the country this season. Senior Caroline Hodgins (Schwenksville/Perkiomen Valley) also posted a victory in the 500-meter freestyle, touching the wall in 5:12.86 – also the fastest time in the conference to date.

All told, 15 new PSAC qualifying times were posted in the victories over Millersville and Gannon. Hodgins, meanwhile, was named the PSAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for her performance over the weekend. She also posted the fastest time in the league, to date, in the 1000-meter freestyle (10:40.70) in the win over Dickinson.

Clarion is heading in the opposite direction, having lost two straight and three of its last four. The Golden Eagles most recently competed at Shippensburg on November 7 – a 118-84 setback to the Red Raiders.

Freshman Rebecca Yonek earned wins in the 500-meter freestyle (5:19.99) and the 1000-meter freestyle (10:50.55) in the loss against Shippensburg. Senior Emily Ondrizek claimed a win in the 50-meter freestyle (25.25).
