STORYLINE
The number-three seeded Huskies host six seed Lock Haven in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) quarterfinal matchup. Bloomsburg comes into the contest having won four of its last five games, including a 2-1 win over Shippensburg in the final game of the regular season. The Bald Eagles enter postseason play having lost two out of their last three games including 5-1 loss to California (PA) on in their final regular season game.
LAST TIME OUT
Bloomsburg scored a 2-1 victory over Shippensburg on Saturday thanks to two first half goals from
Nick Izzo (Frankford, DE/Indian River) and
Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, NJ/Mount Olive). The Raiders would cut the lead in half with a goal in the 83
rd minute, but
Jared Ott (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) and the Husky defense would turn away Shippensburg in the 90
th minute to preserve the win. Ott made four saves and picked up his sixth win of the season.
LAST MEETING
Bloomsburg defeated Lock Haven, 2-0, at Steph Pettit Stadium on Sept. 5.
Kenny Herrmann (Langhorne/Neshaminy) and
Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, NJ/Mount Olive) scored for the Huskies, who outshot the Bald Eagles, 16-10.
Jared Ott (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) made four saves in goal to earn what was then his second shutout of the season.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies' offense is led by
Austin Transue (Langhorne/Neshaminy) who has 12 goals, four assists and 28 points on the season. His 28 points and 12 goals each are good for second in the conference, while his four assists are tied for seventh. Following Transue is
Anthony Cerda (Budd Lake, NJ/Mount Olive) who has five goals and 11 points on the year, and
Kenny Herrmann (Langhorne/Neshaminy) with three goals and seven points. Ott is third in the PSAC with four shutouts and is also third with only 11 goals allowed this year as he has a goals against average of 1.11.
SCOUTING LOCK HAVEN
The Bald Eagles roster features four players with four or more goals on the season and are led by Troy Amspacher who has a team-high eight goals, three assists and 19 points. Amspacher's 19 points put him sixth in the conference while his eight goals are tied for sixth best in the PSAC. Following him with four goals each are Jacob Oldaker, Zach Hommey and Tyler Sablyak. In goal, Troy Teresak has won all seven games for Lock Haven in 2015 while making 58 saves and recording two shutouts.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
The winner of the contest will face two-seeded Millersville in the PSAC semifinals on Friday. Top seed Mercyhurst will host the semifinals and the finals.
