StatsBLOOMSBURG--Following a holiday break the Bloomsburg University wrestling team will be back in action on Monday, Dec. 28 at the Wilkes Open in Wilkes-Barre and the Midlands Tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 29-30. The Huskies will have 11 wrestlers competing at the Wilkes Open, while
Andy Schutz (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) and
Brendon Colbert (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) will head to Chicago for the Midlands.
SETTING THE SCENE...• Bloomsburg lost to Lock Haven on Dec. 17 by a score of 39-3.
Jon Haas (Penfield, NY/Penfield) was the Huskies lone winner posting an 8-6, sudden victory win at 125 pounds.
• Colbert has gone 3-3 in his last six matches, twice beating Spencer Nagy of Edinboro. Schutz has won four of his last six matches with two of the wins by fall.
• Bloomsburg had three placewinners at the PSAC Championships on Dec. 5 with
Andy Schutz (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) (133) taking second and
Brendon Colbert (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) (157) and
Dominic Carfagno (West Paterson, NJ/St. Joseph Regional) (197) each taking home fourth place.
•At the Keystone Classic Schutz and
Kyle Wojtaszek (Brick, NJ/Brick Township) at 174 lbs both finished in sixth place. Schutz had a win by fall and major decision, while Wojtaszek had a win by fall and technical fall.

Dominic Carfagno (West Paterson, NJ/St. Joseph Regional) leads the Huskies in wins this season with 14 and is tied for the lead in bonus point wins with seven (three by fall; two by technical fall and two by two by major decision). He also has the quickest fall on the year in just 32 seconds in the match with Purdue.

Andy Schutz (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) is tied for second in wins with 10 and leads the team in wins by fall with five. He is also tied for second in bonus point wins with seven (five by fall and two by major decision).

Mathew Carr (Dalton, Pa./Abington Heights) at 165 pounds three wins on the season, all by major decision. His biggest win was a 16-7 victory at the Clarion Open.
• The Huskies are on an extended leave from the confines of the Nelson Field House. Bloomsburg will go over two months between home events not hitting the mats at Nelson again until Sunday, Jan. 24 against Brown University.
• Alumni day has been announced for Sat. Feb,. 13, 2016 vs. Sacred Heart.
