DAEMEN BOXBLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team split a pair of matches on Sunday beating Daemen College, 7-2, and losing to Mercyhurst, 8-1.

In the win over Daemen, the Huskies swept the doubles action with each team winning by a score of 8-3. At No. 1 was
Jean Paul Jones (Guayaquil, Guayan (Ecuador)/Cruzdel Sur) and
Gilberto Machado (Puerto de la Cruz, Cananary Islands/International British Yeoward School), while
Mike DiSanto (Center Valley/Southern Lehigh) and
Scott Langenbach (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) played No. 2 with
Nenyi Micah (Allentown/William Allen) and Christian Coffee at No. 3.

In singles action, Jones won at No. 1 by a score of 6-2, 6-1, while
Denis Ikejiri (Santana de Parnaiba/Makenzie Tambori)'s 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5 clinched the match. DiSanto won a three-set thriller, 7-5, 1-6, 10-8.

In the first match of the day the Huskies lost to Mercyhurst, 8-1.

Bloomsburg picked up a win at No. 3 doubles with Micah and Coffee scoring an 8-6 win and lost a tough 9-7 match at No. 2 with DiSanto and Langenbach.

In singles play the Huskies dropped two, three-set matches and had a third match go to a second set tie-breaker.

Bloomsburg is now 5-11 on the season.
